We had a lovely room overlooking the lane and the woods to the rear of the property, which made the room a little dark (needed a light on at all times) but the wooded view we enjoyed (with deer, wild turkeys, other birds and also squirrels) made up for this. It was an easy and safe walk to town to find eating places each evening. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and although sometimes the breakfast room was very busy, there were additional fold-out tables available to sit at in the reception area to cope with the peak times. We valued the laundry facilities and the parking - there was always a space even when the hotel was full. Hill City itself has some lovely shops to browse in as well as a choice of eating places.

I had researched the this motel on trip advisor and was encouraged by the favorable reviews. Was very pleased upon arrival the room exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean and well kept as well as the rest of the motel. The breakfast choices are plentiful and kept well stocked. The pool and hot tub were great. In general a great experience. Would recommend this motel and would stay there again.

"Very nice hotel next to Mt. Rushmore...5 mins away"
Only one issue during the stay. The bathroom knob locked and was unable to get inside. Door handle ended up being replaced. Otherwise, the stay was much nicer than expected. Both service and staff were absolutely wonderful. A very pleasant surprise and comfortable stay. Even the bikers, during Sturgis 2014, were fascinating.
