Convenient and great view of the water and downtown if you get the Legacy Suite. Otherwise they don't clean the room even when you ask, towels are really gross, bathroom is super questionable and if you need anything there is no one there. Not worth the money.

Our family of six enjoyed the plantation style of accommodations. Management and staff were very hospitable. Complimentary local-style breakfast and home-style gym worked for us. Property was lush and well kept. We enjoyed the small bamboo forest and river nearby. It was nice to get an ocean view from the veranda. We definitely will return.

The hotel was nice and met our expectations. It matched the description from other reviews posted. It wasn't the flashiest hotel but the view of the bay was nice, the staff was polite, and the room was satisfactory.

Easy check-in & out, gracious innkeeper, lovely grounds, quiet, heard sounds of surf at night as well as those of all the tree toads - delightful.
Very good, do-it-yourself breakfast: Eggs, fruit, coffee all grown or raised right on property.

My son-in-law enjoyed taking pictures of the falls that was viewed from the lanai. A very nice breakfast was served in the morning and eaten on the lanai. The sounds of the falls and the frogs were soothing to sleep by, but the bed was a little softer than used to sleeping on. Very restful place to stay for the night away from the hubbub of Hilo.

Sugar was once king in Hilo. Now, the town is known for its bay, shops, and farmers market that teems with exotic fruit. Swaying hips abound at Hilo’s Merrie Monarch Festival, a week-long hula contest held after Easter. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is nearby. There, Kilauea is the hottest attraction as one of the world’s most active volcanoes. At its helm is Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess.
