The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort sits on a private white sand beach facing the southeast shoreline and the Atlantic Ocean within Palmetto Dunes. The landscaped hotel grounds have water fountains as well as a brick courtyard with lush tropical foliage and native trees. A meandering boardwalk flows over fish ponds and out to the ocean or to the pools and spa tubs. Flowering gardens and hickory, live oak, and indigenous palmetto palm trees line the resort.

This pet-friendly resort features 3 specially designed championship golf courses with 24 holes. Ocean Tides Spa offers massage and facials treatments inside the Spa or in a oceanside cabana. The resort includes a fitness center with cardio machines and free weights. From Memorial Day until Labor Day, supervised children's activities are provided in both an air-conditioned pavilion and outdoors for children ages 4-12 (surcharge). Business services include a business center and 20,000 square feet of meeting facilities. Coin-operated laundry machines are also available. Recreation

The resort features two 90-foot long, outdoor heated swimming pools, one for families and another, 50 yards away, reserved for adults. A seasonal children's club provides supervised activities for the kids (surcharges may apply). A wooden deck, sheltered by sand dunes and overlooking the white beach, contains two six-person spa tubs.

The resort rents adult, child, and adult-child tandem bicycles suitable for beach and Hilton Head Island's hundreds of miles of bike paths. Also available for rent are beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, metal detectors, and boogie boards. An independent operator on the beach also rents beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards, as well as AquaBikes, sailboats, and low-slung three-wheel beach buggies.

The 2,000-acre Palmetto Dunes residential/resort community, of which the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is a part, offers three golf courses: the Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront, the George Fazio, and the Arthur Hills. Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center offers 23 clay and two Nova ProBounce courts. (Eight courts lighted for night play.) Instruction is available.

Palmetto Dunes includes 11 miles of lagoons, with rental kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats available at Fish Creek Landing one mile from the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, along with bicycles, adult-child tandem bicycles, kiddie carts, and rollerblades.

Set on Broad Creek, an estuary running through Hilton Head Island, Mediterranean-village-style Shelter Cove Harbour 1.5 miles from the resort offers deep-sea and inshore fishing charters, sport crabbing, sailboat and power-boat rentals, sightseeing and nature excursions, and dinner cruises.

“Fabulous setting”

“Would recommend to anybody”

Great location for golf which is why we went to the Hilton. The hotel provides van rides to the three golf courses that are in the plantation.

“Golfer's Dream Resort”

The close proximity of three championship caliber resort golf courses at the Palmetto Dunes Resort make this an ideal golfer's getaway, not to mention the other fantastic courses on Hilton Head Island. The weather in early November is a near ideal 60 to 70 degrees.

“Beautiful Hotel Excellent Food”

An excellent get away for two! Its worth a little extra for the ocean view room. Our third floor view included the waterway winding through the pool area, beautiful landscaping and beyond that the ocean. The balcony was larger than we expected, as was the room. Each staff member was helpful and sincerely friendly. We enjoyed drinks from the Buoy Bar while lying by the pool. We were disappointed that we were not allowed to have alcohol on the beach. We enjoyed the Ocean Grille, souvenir shops, and live outdoor entertainment at Shelter Cove, which is a short 5-minute drive from the hotel. For casual dining and a variety of seafood, we recommend the Old Oyster Factory. The place looked packed when we drove up but we only waited a few minutes as they have a large seating capacity. We took a day trip to Savannah, only an hour drive from the hotel. We strongly recommend the educational and entertaining trolley tour of Savannah. We had planned a second day trip to Charleston but flooding rains changed our plans. We cant wait to go again and wouldnt think of staying anywhere else.

“great relaxing place over looks the beach”

The suite was extremely nice oceanfront. The hotel was really nice and the atmoshere was tropically and 4 starr. dogs allowed thats really a good ideal as well. Resturant had very good food. the resturant service was not so good. Hostess was no where in sight.

“The best on Hilton head Island”

The room was very nice and clean. Big with a small kitchen. just right for a family of 4. The beach you can see it from your room. The whole island was great. But have a GPS because everything is hidden by trees. I've stayed at many hotels from expedia and this one is one of the best. Loved it...

“Make sure you check in in the daytime”

We checked into our ocean front room after dark. When we woke, we realized we could indeed see the ocean if we craned our necks and stood on our tip toes. Fortunately the wonderful manager Jarrod, made it all good in the morning with a spectacular room! HE makes the place!
