Economy an hour from Hilton Head

Posted Aug 2, 2015
This hotel is actually a motel. I did not read that the rooms opened to the outside when booking the rooms. However, our stay was comfortable and the rate was much cheaper than hotels closer to the beach. The drive is about a half hour from Tanger outlets and an hour to Coligney Beach in Hilton Head. The accommodations met our needs for a one night trip.

Pros: The staff was very nice.
Cons: Update rooms to include the T.V.
Location: Not to bad.
The room was very old and outdated. The room was also very humid and the shower was very small.

Get less than you pay for.

This stay was awful. Room stunk bad enough for us to go out of our way to find a store and buy an air freshener. There were 'regulars' smoking on the walkways and a hole in our wall next to the ac unit where I could see outside and the smoke was coming into our room. I was afraid to take off my shoes because the floor was so dirty, not so sure how old the coffee in the lobby was but yuck! The owner was very rude, I was at breakfast at 9:03 I just wanted milk for my nasty coffee. He first pretended he did not understand English and then told me no milk for the coffee because breakfast is over at 9am. I will not be back to this hotel

not bad for a place to stay for the night

Pros: the pillows
Cons: the stairs to go up on the second floor
Location: nothing really to do eith had to go to bluffton exit (8) or further north kinda just off the road
the hotel staff was excellent and friendly, was kinda nervous when the stairs sloped down while going up them and you could hear thm cracking ,but room was good would have been ncie if our bathroom trash would ave been clean (only had a few pieces of trash) but other than that was good pillows and bed were comfortable would defintly stay there agin while passing though

You get what you pay for.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Nothing
In the case of this Red Roof you get even less than what you pay for. Pulling a dirty towel off the rack after a long day on the road is a disappointment; what does it take to actually clean the towels, or at least ensure that you don't keep reusing towels on multiple guests? The girl at the front desk offered no apology, only seemed a little annoyed that I was interrupting her evening. The drunk guy I discovered outside my room in the morning was the icing on the cake. Do yourself a favor and drive another 15 miles to stay elsewhere.

worst hotel experience of my life. the police were called b/c a guest and the front desk clerk got into it and the threatened her physically. hotel is rundown, and they gave our room out. I could not recommend staying away from this hotel more.
