Resort staff is great! The daily resort, destination, and valet fees are over the top. Bar and valet staff are superstars. The food was good, although desserts were only fair. Can't beat the location as you are right on the beach. Far more children than I expected.

My family just returned from our Memorial Day Weekend stay at Omni Hilton Head Island, and we're already making plans for a return visit. We've stayed at many lovely resorts on HHI, but this is the very best. It's only steps to the gorgeous beach (unlike other resorts that are set-back further), has 3 beautiful pools, 2 whirlpools, lush tropical landscaping, the most friendly and accommodating staff I've ever experienced (and that includes better than Ritz-Carltons I've stayed at), our room was quite large (and we just got a studio suite) with a kitchenette, the decor was modern and chic, we had an amazing outdoors dinner at HHI Prime, AND we loved the gas fire pits in the courtyard area in the evenings. It's a perfect spot for families!

Beautifully manicured grounds, very clean room, off the beaten path so was less crowded, nice ocean view, reasonably priced compared to other hotels on the island. Room was out of date, minimal cooking utensils.

When we checked in, the lady at the front desk sent us to the wrong elevator. We were dragging all of our suitcases and bags and once we got to the 5th floor the housekeeper told us we had to go to the other building. It was a far walk. The room was nice and clean. The ocean view and balcony was the best part. The parking wasn't too great. We had to walk so far to get to our car. The only short cut without walking all the way to the lobby was a staircase of 100 stairs. The hotel was almost too big for my taste. If you had questions, you had to walk so far to find someone to help you. You couldn't rent movies from the TV or maybe we just could not figure it out. The room was shorts on washcloths and towels, no laundry bags, but that may be because it was a holiday weekend. The pool was beautiful and the lobby was nice. I personally don't like having to walk so far to get to everything but I would recommend it to people who don't mind. I stayed at the Omni next door the last time and I enjoyed that hotel a lot more and it was close to the same price. I booked last minute so this Marriott was one of the only choices and we paid a higher rate.

As someone with allergies it was nice to see the faux wood floors throughout the room. The bed, furniture, AC unit were all updated and pleasing. This is an older motel style with doors that face the outside. Easy for loading/unloading but may bother some. The hotel sits off the road behind a breakfast restaurant so it provides a noise buffer. I didn't see any obvious evidence of disrepair or lack of attention.
The room had a small microwave and fridge BUT no coffeemaker. Coffee was available at the main desk however.

They were doing some work at the hotel and you could tell it was a little older there were places where the carpet looked stained or dirty but for the price as compared to the other places on the beach it was not a bad deal. I would stay there again. The pool was nice. I enjoyed the bar and the live entertainment. Beach location was nice. Very convenient with shops, restaurants, bars, a grocery store, and a movie theatre a few minutes walk away. The bed was very comfortable had a nice size refrigerator, and the room was stocked with plenty of towels. My only real complaint was that there was only one chair in the room we were in. The experience was enjoyable.

Poorly located elevators : our room was one floor up : kinda close to the reception desk area, but had to walk to the other end of the hotel, through a museum section and back track to directly above where we started.
Not the kind of exercise we were looking for when we were checking in right after midnight.

Hilton Head Island is both an island and a town. With more than 12 miles of beachfront along the Atlantic Ocean, it is a popular tourist destination. Coligny Beach and Fish Haul are two popular parks. Baynard Mausoleum, built in 1846, is the oldest intact structure on the island.
