It was a pleasant stay at the ryokan. It is easy to find and very near to the shopping area. The owner helped us a lot in making a reservation at a restaurant (because we cannot speak Japanese) and they are so particular on our request. The best way to commute in Hiroshima is by the sight seeing bus "Meipuru-pi". It's free if you have Japan Rain Pass.

This hotel is located close to Hiroshima station. The rooms are tiny very tiny but they are exceptionally clean. It's the cleanest hotel we stayed at during our vacation around Japan. Breakfast included a Japanese style buffet and throughout the day drinks were complimentary. The free laundry use was a huge perk as well.
The only downside is the wifi can only be access in the lobby.

The new Hiroden is an old-school business hotel. It has great access to transport and seems to be set up for conferences and the like. My room didn't seem to have AC (though that was not a problem) and the facilities were a bit dated but it was clean and very comfortable. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. I used the main train station quite a bit so being just a block away was very convenient. The neighborhood lacks variety in dining options but walking ten blocks south will get you to the center of town and a lot of food and entertainment. There are lots of local transport options available but I found the stroll quite pleasant. The best thing about the New Hiroden was the staff, which were fast, friendly, and accommodating.
