Descent Hotel, Great Staff

Posted Nov 7, 2013
Hotel was further away from JR rail station (10+ minute walk/long with luggage) and Peace Park/Hiroshima Memorial (take a cab or bus/40 minute walk). Rooms were small - typical Japan. Bed was rock hard - I had to go to front desk in the middle of the night to get blankets to put underneath me. But for our 2nd night stay, the staff brought me 4 very thick blankets so bed was comfortable. Staff was extremely polite and very accommodating. Good price for hotel - just plan on taking city bus or cab for most places you want to go. Side trip to Miyajima shrine not to be missed! JR takes you right there.

JAL Hiroshima

Posted Nov 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed 2 nights here. It was a little further from the station than most comparable hotels and not near anything in particular but it wasn't a back breaking walk. Hotel staff was very helpful. Hotel itself was fine. Nothing in particular stood out. Standard amenities.

Room very small. Little English. Difficult arranging breakfast if not paid for when booking room.

Hiroshima Friendliness

Posted Jan 16, 2011
The Hotel Jal City was all I expected and more. The staff spoke enough English for me to get by, and were EXTREMELY helpful in all situations. They called taxis when I needed them, made restaurant reservations, and arranged my getting back to the airport. The room was small by American standards, with no space for clothes, but the computerized toilet and bathroom more than made up for it. I wanted to take my toilet seat home!!!! When I wasnt feeling well one day, the manager even came up to my room to ask if there was anything the front desk could do for me. I would stay here again, if I were ever back in Hiroshima. It was a GREAT place. The on site restaurant was spendy, but the food was good.

Close to the JR station. Very nice view overlooking the river. Staff helpful (as everywhere in Japan).
