Lovely hotel with great views in central location

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Location, general standard of accommodation, staff
Location: The hotel is within walking distance of the A-Bomb site and museum and Hiroshima castle, as well as lots of eating places, and a tram station
I had a lovely room on the 23rd floor with great views over Hiroshima. The room itself was comfortable and spacious. The staff were very helpful, even making a call to another hotel on my behalf (about a stay later in my trip) as I don't speak Japanese. I also enjoyed a drink in the hotel's 33rd floor bar (I was given a voucher by reception so that I didn't pay a cover charge) which was very nice!

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros:
Cons:
Location:

Rooms OK, overall great, and perfect location

Posted May 16, 2015
Pros: Restaurant, bar, views, comfort, value.
Cons: Bathrooms a little cramped although at the price, probably fair enough and still entirely satisfactory.
Location: Of course for most, the atomic memorial park and associated sites. Nearby so you can do them justice in one day. Hotel on top of a shopping mall.
Relatively small rooms and bathrooms but all round a terrific hotel. The "sky restaurant" Chambord on the 33rd floor and the RIHGA Top Sky Lounge bar offer great views of this surprisingly attractive city - curiously like a mini San Francisco. The restaurants are usefully cheaper than equivalents in Tokyo (or Kyoto) yet just as good. My room was solid 4* but still very pleasant with another great view (of the castle mainly) from the 19th floor. Public spaces and facilities very satisfactory. For value combined with an amiable place to stay, a real find. The location is perfect for walking to the atomic memorials and museum. In theory the hotel is probably 4-star but in practice I simply took a real liking to it. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Chambord is a splendid French restaurant by any standard - advisable to book as the locals clearly have noticed this. I suppose one might question indulgences like this against the background of what is naturally a bit of a pilgrimage for most tourists. However, the renewed, living city with its 1 million+ inhabitants should be duly celebrated, and such a fine eating establishment should get due recognition for its quality and the professionalism of its staff. Tremendous value overall.

Un hotel vieillot mais bien place

Posted May 6, 2015

Nice hotel. In between the station and Gion.

Very clean. On a main street. Public onsen. They do not allow tattoo's into the onsen. I am tattooed and that was what I anticipated. Sadly did't not get to see the onsen.

Central pour visites et soirées.

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Vue, service.
