Very nice location to see historic Quito
Great location in historic Quito with excellent service. The free breakfast is wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay here. However, it would be nice if the wifi worked a bit better in the rooms further away from the common room area and if the hot water was reliable. We took a handful of icy showers.

It was a great location in the old town walking distance to La Ronda and other attractions. The staff were very helpful in confirming reservations , ringing taxis etc. I would stay there again.

Great location, great English speaking staff, great breakfasts, very clean rooms, safe area. I enjoyed entire ten days stay with day trips. I wish that hotel had better prices for the trips they offered. I used trips offered by Quito Tour Bus with fabulous English speaking tour guides.

Not great.
Great location, great service and friendly staff. Hit wTer in shower was a hit snd miss snd had to use wifi in the lobby only. No connection in the room.

Good location but if taking a taxi there is no place to stop during rush hour / busy times though this is true of most facilities in the historical area. Beautiful view of the Panecillo from the breakfast room. Within walking distance of churches, museums and close to public transit.

Nice hotel close to sites

We loved the place. Th boys at the front desk were more than helpful I liked Th paintings and the location was great. We discovered the best restaurant luminaire near by. Felt safe in the neighbourhood The breakfast was excellent with a great view

Hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Location very convenient for touring the old city. Gives you a good flavor of Ecuador. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Nice hostel on quiet street, good breakfast
This is a beautiful hostel, that had a nice reception area, living room area where you can help yourself to coffee, tea, water and biscuits, and a roof top restaurant with amazing views. The breakfast was buffet style, and very plentiful. The rooms were a large size, but the mattress was a little hard for my liking. Safes were in the rooms, and the showers had hot water. Wifi was working fine in all areas of the hostel. The reception staff were very nice and helpful. The one complaint I have is that the room windows all facing the interior, so you do not have much privacy, and it could get noisy hearing people in the hallways.

Poor management and custemer service
I wouldn't stay there again because on the first day when I went to take a shower I didn't have hot water when I informed the receptionist they told me that they will check the gas and after that I had hot water. The same thing occurred on the second day and although the receptionist was so very apologetic and changed my room the manager refused to compensate me for this inconvenience. My breaking point occurred on the third day when there were a group of football fans sitting in the lounge area until 1:00 in the morning speaking and laughing so loudly I was unable to sleep. Although the receptionist informed them to leave they ignored the request and continued anyway. At that point I opened my room door and began screaming at them at 1:30 in the morning. This was even more reason to be compensated for at least a night but the manager was inflexible. I would certainly nevery give them my money again after such poor accommodations and poor customer service.

All of the staff at this hotel were great. They did all that they could to make my stay good. It was very clean and the breakfast was good. The front desk staff was great. The only negative issue that I had was the hot water. Every morning, I had a problem trying to shower. The water would not get hot and was freezing cold. The daytime desk clerk did his best to get me hot water. He truly was super in trying to fix it, but it is a major problem. The hotel needs to fix this. I would not stay there again because of that and would not recommend it to anyone else. It is the only reason, but it is pretty miserable to try to shower and wash your hair with freezing water.

Taxi fraud hotel!
The hotel is nicely decorated with paintings. The rooms are ok not good lighting and wifi vey poor. Breakfast was nice in the top floor ovelooking Quito. Desk service was ok. Main problem was taxi scam by desk people. Three times we went to the same place and were advised the fee was $20. First time we thought this was very expensive. Second time we asked for a metered taxi, but again we're told there was only a fixed rate for $20. Third time we insisted on metered taxi and the cost was $9.40! We also booked for an early taxi to airport: fixed price $30. On way back from airport a few days later we paid $18.80. In all cases of the "fixed fee" we saw money being exchanged between taxi driver and your desk staff. This is very serious abuse of trusting tourists in your hotel. We advised our concern to the desk staff and were ignored. Also wrote message and left in comments box in lobby; but two weeks later still no response!

Someone banging on the exterior door at 5:30 am wasn't great. Then banging in the lobby at 7 am was also not fun. They gave me such a tiny WiFi piece of paper about as big as my fingernail that I lost it before I got to the room.

Fascinating building right in the old city
We stayed two nights either side of a trip to the Galapagos and were able to store luggage. The first room was very good with a balcony overlooking a quiet street. The second had internal windows onto the lounge area and had little privacy during the day and evening, OK later at night. Felt reasonably safe to walk from the main square at night. Staff mostly helpful. Beautiful old building well restored and the breakfast room on the roof has a great view. The street is closed during the day on Sunday but taxis can back up a few yards from the road - we could have walked easily but this is not expected of foreigners

Great location in Old Town Quito
Great location to see old town Quito. The hotel does offer airport transfer, but it will be much cheaper to use taxis at the airport - should be about $25 from the airport. Hotel is walking distance from all of the major attractions in Quito - Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco, churches and museums. The hotel provides continental breakfast with a great view of the city. They will also organize day trip tours to Cotopaxi and Quilotoa. We were able to find the tours much cheaper through another agency. Overall, great stay, clean, comfortable room.

Be careful of room location
We arrived late in the evening and were given a room facing the street. It was so unbelievably loud that we did not sleep at all. The room was on a bus route and less than every 5 minutes extremely loud buses went by. The hotel did not seem to be booked up so why would they give us this room. For this reason that I would never stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful historic Quito
Hotel staff were extremely helpful, organised a late pick up from the airport, showed us interest spots on map, organised a taxi to the cable car and Equator monument and museum, suggested good restaurants.....fabulous.

Hotel was very pleasant and staff more than accomadating. I wish that there was a bar/coffee bar inside the hotel so that we could relax there instead of having to walk to another place. We did have some issues with the shower/hot water and let the staff know. We had a room overlooking street and it was fun to watch people walk past.

Really pleasant experience with most helpful staff and internet availabiity. Hot water was an issue at first until the shower was run for a full five minutes to get it working. Lots of noise from the street but only adds to the experience.

Very old hotel needs upgrading badly
We were very disappointed with the hotel it is one level above a hostel. The bathroom was the size of a postage stamp. Because of all the rain we came back soaked to the skin and the room had no heat facitily. The front desk staff were less than helpful. We have travelled all over the world and we do not stay in luxury but this as just old and very outdated. We moved to a better hotel for a few dollars more we were upgraded to a suite. Would not recommend to friends.

Historic hotel with lots if charm!
Beautiful hotel in historic district. Two blocks from plaza square and presidential palace. Plenty of police officers patrolling the area for safety - or if you get lost they will assist in finding your hotel. Plenty of churches and museums for sightseeing. The hotel staff went out of their way on several occasions from helping us find a shop we were looking for to ordering pizza for us on our last night!

Nice hotel in Historic District.
Nice clean hotel. Staff are very friendly and speak Spanish and English. Very helpful with taxis and information about things to see. Close to a lot of good restaurants near the Calls de Ronda. We had a great 4 days there.

Nice hotel in the Historic Centro.
This hotel was very nice. We had an upgraded room - actually 2 bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom. Great accommodations for traveling with children or others. The location was in the Historic Center. Close to Calle de la Ronda for night time dining. Close to city attractions. The staff was willing to help with transportation needs and to offer advise. The 2 issues with the hotel were the breakfast and the shower. The breakfast could have been better given that there are so many good bakeries --- yet the breakfast only offered dry white/wheat toast. Some good bread or pastries would have been appreciated. We brought our own bakery items to breakfast. However, the freshly cooked eggs were delicious. Now the shower, the water temperature constantly fluctuated going from scalding to freezing within seconds. This happened every day - morning and night. Very disappointing.

Guest service does not exist. Management did not honor our reservation. Some items from our bags were missing, camera , watch, sunglasses . Please stay away from this hotel, there are thief's involved with the staff. This hotel is not even a boutique. This is not a 3.5star, this app does not let me rate this horrible hotel.

Affordable lodging in Quito old town.
My wife and I and 3 teenage children stayed at boutique Sucre over Christmas for 4 nights. We had. 2 rooms and had a great stay. The staff at reception were outstanding and went above and beyond to assist us. There is a great travel agency just across the street that even opened on Christmas Day to assist us to book a couple of tours. The hotel has loads of character, large rooms, and an amazing view over Quito at breakfast time.
