Heart of Ho Chi Minh

Great little hotel with outrageous decor... a lot of fun. Really good breakfast made to order in the bar just below street level. Great location near Opera House.

Hotel close to City

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Location close to 5star hotel - Sheraton. Easy landmark in case you can't remember the direction at night
Cons: Wifi coverage in the room is not strong enough. Should engage a Wifi engineer to perform a heat map to ensure no blind spot.
Location: There are quite a number of restaurant nearby and super markets as well.
Hotel is located 1 KM away from Ben Tanh Market. Very convenient where there are many restaurant and shops around. There is a gourmet market around the corner and there are ample of groceries for your daily consumption. The cleaner is too efficient and hardworking. Never seen such a dedicated which is committed to get the job done. Overall experience is good. Remember to ask for Noodle for your breakfast which is not in the menu and it is free of charge. Do not shop in Ben Thah Market but shop around the area and you will get a better and reasonable price.

Friendly clean hotel in the center of action

Posted May 4, 2014
Loved this hotel! Pros - Location wise you can easily jump to all the things a typical traveler would want to do, and tons of cafes, bars and restaurants all within short walking distance. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very "charming" I guess you could say, with a decidedly old fashion style, it's like something off a movie set. It is all of high quality and new, it just the theme of it's design. The room was very clean, well appointed, great TV with 70+ channels including HBO. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Staff felt trustworthy and dependable. Includes a good buffet breakfast that had everything you could need, with very friendly staff. Cons - Does not offer an iron to iron your clothes, a paid service is available; the water in the shower was often cool to only semi-warm; on level 3 the music from bar below hotel was noticeable until around 2am (not a deal breaker, but some may desire more peace and quiet). Otherwise this was a fantastic place, and if planning to go back to Ho Chi Minh I wouldn't hesitate to get it again.

A nice stay in Saigon

Posted Apr 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were here for 3 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice, we used them to book a tour of the tunnels as well as a taxi back to the airport. Fairly close to the main city attractions and we were able to walk around easily. Breakfast was nothing special (bad coffee, eggs made to order were good).

Good location, poor service

Posted Mar 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for 3 nights. Paid in advance on hotels.com. Room is clean, good location. I would caution you, this hotel tried to charge us for items not taken from the mini bar, a burned towel at the front desk they said was ours and upon check out they said we never paid them even with me showing them my hotels.com receipt over and over. Finally after 20 minutes I said I have to leave or I will miss my train. I am not paying you again. Just watch out for this if you stay.

Good location but not satisfied with hotel staff

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Good location
Cons: Breakfast wasn't ready at 7am. We had to wait for 10 minutes every morning.
The hotel staff gave our personal information to another hotel guest. (nationality, room number etc) As a result of this, we were annoyed by telephone calls every day.

Just a place to sleep

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Housekeeping quality. This is the most basis of a hotel room. A clean, comfortable and safe place to rest
Location: Location is great. Lot of food and thing to do within stone throw
I am familiar with Saigon having work here for few years. This hotel is located in a very good location in downtown district 1 near Sheraton hotel. A&EM is a budget hotel chain here. I choose this hotel because my usual hotel is full. What surprise me is that the housekeeping just merely change your bed sheet and towel and they probably did not sweep the floor and ones i came in to the room, even saw the staff calling out chatting using my room phone. So I personally would not stay here again if I have a choice
