Eclectic, fun hotel in the heart of Ho Chi MinhPosted Feb 28, 2015
The hotel has sizable rooms that are decorated in a wonderful, kitschy-colonial way, most with dark teak floors. They have everything you need - kettle, safe (although you won't have to worry about your stuff), closet, laundry, fridge with RedBull and water, toiletries, etc. and some things you don't like an endearing, old PC computer. It's a small, local chain hotel. It's nothing like the enormous Sherston across the street which I'm so thankful to not be in. the A$EM hotel feels family run. They remembered me from my last stay 9 months ago, even how I like fried eggs over easy for breakfast. A local coworker from Hanoi says that the phò and other soups they do for breakfast are some of the best anywhere. The staff seem to be connected or related to the stores around the hotel and some of the street vendors too. Vietnam is a wonderfully social and good-natured society. Hotels like this one are a great way to access how the locals live. Forget the big chains, save your money, you'll be smiling in more ways than one.

Recent stay in HCMCPosted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: Location, Location, Location
Cons: Over the past 15 years I've traveled extensively in SE Asia and have stayed at numerous hotels. The breakfast at this hotel was not up to par.
Location: It is near city center, walking distance of many restaurants and coffee shops, both local and international (Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf).
Overall a very good experience. My wife and I were in town for a short vacation. We lived in HCMC for 10 years so this was more of a reunion with friends than sightseeing. I picked this hotel because of it's location to city center and meeting spots. It's near many restaurants and coffee shops. It's also close to shopping and Ben Thanh Market. The one draw back right now is the construction taking place on Nguyen Hue Street and Le Loi Street. In order to walk from the hotel to Ben Thank Market for example, you have to walk out and around the construction which adds considerable steps to the journey. Walking in HCMC is always an adventure anyway.

Greit og sentraltPosted Jan 8, 2015 on Hotels.com
Ikke vindu. Røyklukt. Vi hadde bestilt rom på et bestemt hotel som vi var fornøyd med sist, men ble plassert på et annet 5min unna som ikke hadde like bra location. Dog bedre frokost! Boblebad på rommet

Sentralt og rimelig i Ho Chi Min cityPosted Jan 5, 2015 on Hotels.com
Topp, sentralt hotell i hyggelig område. Meget god service. Vindu ut mot gaten. Eneste aber: Frokosten temmelig trist i kjeller-bar. Andre gang vi booket det samme hotellet og betalte på forhånd ble vi plassert på et hotell i samme kjenden, som lå en 5-minutters spasertur unna, ikke like trivelig gate og intet vindu, men bedre frokost. Ingen videre kompensasjon for byttet. Vi foretrakk absulutt vårt opprinnelige hotell.

Nice hotel of excellent locationPosted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Good location and French theme.
Cons: The curtain is a bit dusty. It could be cleaner and soundproof could be better.
Location: Good western restaurants, cafeteria and massage. It is near to the tourist attraction such as the saint Marie cathedral and the opera house.
We were in transit for one day in Ho Chi Minh city. This hotel is conveniently located in downtown district 1. We had a comfortable stay though the room is not big. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful.

Good location, great restaurants aroundPosted Nov 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Good location. Very near to big malls and some fancy restaurants recommended by trip advisor. Clean and quiet even though there's a bar downstairs. Great to grab a beer there before sleep. The water pressure is not strong enough, not sure Cuz I stayed in the 5th floor though, hot water is not very stable, sometimes need to switch off n on to get it back.
