I booked this hotel to be close to the airport as i was catching an early flight to Hanoi. But it was only approx a 5 minutes drive closer than if i was staying in the centre of HCMC. Distric 3 and 1 are only approx 20 minutes and 200,000 dong (>£5) away. When i arrived at the hotel to check in i was told that the room i had booked was not available and they had no other rooms to offer me. I said i had a confirmed and fully paid and guaranteed receipt for my booking and asked what i was to do? I was informed that they had booked me into another hotel not too far away of equal standard and quality. I was put into a taxi and off i went. I arrived a few minutes later and thankfully the hotel were expecting me and showed me to my room. I had booked a suite at the Bel Ami Hotel , my new hotel of equal quality and standard , only had standard rooms , no suites . Disappointing , however my room was clean and the staff were very nice and it was only for one night . In my free time i did some surfing of the net and discovered that the Bel Ami Hotel seems to regularly not have your room available and off loads you to another hotel near by. I have been in Vietnam on several occasions but this was my first trip to HCMC and was unsure of the distance or travelling times from the airport. When i return i will definitely be booking a hotel in district 3 or district 1 .

This hotel is a JOKEPosted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: HORIBLE management
Location: I thought it was near the airport, apparently Not.
Don't ever book this hotel. I booked Bel Ami Hotel and paid in advance thru Expedia. I arrived at Bel Ami hotel at 7pm after my 22 hours flight. They informed me that they have no room for me at the hotel, they sent me to Ngoc Lan hotel, about a mile away. We tooked a taxi to Ngoc Lan, the management here said they have no idea & refused to call Bel Ami regarding to my situation. I had to take taxi back to Bel Ami to complain. They simply said that they forgot to book Ngoc Lan hotel for me. I had them call & reassure my booking with a different hotel. I don't understand why EXPEDIA allows this type of hotel on their site. They will take your $$ without being responsible for it.

Nice budget hotel for a few hoursPosted Dec 20, 2013
I only need a room for a few hours before heading to Mui Ne. This hotel is generally clean, and the staff is very friendly.

Great hotelPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Originally booked 3 nights only for a 2 weeks stay to see if we'd be happy with the hotel if not we move on. We were very happy with the service and price so we booked the entire stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as soon as I check-in I wanted a Sim card for my phone so I asked the bell boy he offered to go buy it for me. I wanted to have 3G network Sim so the front desk girl also helped me activated. Each time they helped me with something I give a small tip of $1-3 tip and they are always very grateful for it. The room was also kept clean for us, except there were 2 nights we had clothes everywhere so I put up the do not disturb sign. The location of the hotel is next to the Tan Binh market so traffic is extremely heavy, but you can walk over to the market to buy something to eat but be warned that you must be comfortable with the crowded place to go into the market. From here to district 1 (tourist area) is approximately 7km,doesnt seems far but with this traffic on certain day take 30-40mins to get there. However it located very close to the airport so very short taxi ride will get you there. The hotel rated 3 star but have the facility and service a 4 star, perhaps just missing a pool to get another star. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again when I come back.

Good for the airportPosted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here before an early morning flight. It was the close enough to the airport, it was clean and the staff were helpful. There is not a lot around this hotel but for the purpose of a one night stay before a flight it suited our needs.

Good enough hotel except....Posted Oct 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything went fine until my return for one day before I fly back and they shipped me to another lower grade hotel because they overbooked. That's unprofessional of them since I stayed there 2 days before and they knew ahead that I was returning. Shame!

very comfortable bedPosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: Comfi bed, good service
Location: 4.4 km from airport
WE only stayed there for the night as we had connecting flight the next morning. The hotel is 4.4 km from the airport. Taxidriver got lost on the way there charged us 150k dong, next morning for the same we paid 90k dong. The hotel is really nicely maintained. The room was big and the bed the most comfortable with extra pillows for even more comfort. Room and bathroom very clean. Breakfast was good as we were there way too early had to quickly eat and leave. Overall would recommend for staying when need close proximity to airport, not so much to city.

Last Night in VietnamPosted Jul 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
For the price, it was more than we had expected. It was the last night of our holiday and we got in to Saigon from Nha Trang to be picked up by their transfer service, which was very welcome. HMC international air port quickly turns to Chaos as soon as you step out of it, and it was very reassuring to see a young woman holding a big sign up with your name, and able to speak very good English. the hotel was only a short distance from the airport, but with the traffic, it took about half an hour. The hotel was very nice and friendly and modern. Great night's sleep, and early morning start 4.30 back to the airport with the transfer car waiting and ready to go. I would definitely recommend it for a one night stay over.

Great if you need to be near the airport.Posted Jun 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Bel Ami served it's purpose very well. I got in late after noon and had a very early flight out the next morning. This hotel is close to the airport so it worked out great. The staff was very nice and tried to please. They did not speak English that well but really wanted to help. The room was good and most importantly it was clean. I would request a room on a higher floor so that you can get away from the street noise. I will stay here again if I have an early flight. You can't beat the price.
