“Saigon”

great location in district one, rooms a good size and shower pressure fantastic. Pillows like a rock and no clock in the room which for time zones would be good to see (especially at night time) Breakfast buffet great selection. Staff not terribly helpful but if asked they would do as requested

“Duxton”

Fantastic location, the only negative would be that wifi is hard to connect to and you cant only access it in the hotel lobby. Apart from that clean rooms and a fantastic breakfast buffet.

“Met with expectation”

One negative issue was the noise in the rooms due to on-going maintenance. After checking in we found a pamphlet in the room informing us that carpets were being changed throughout the hotel and this would take place between 9am and 5pm. While the hours sound reasonable to those who have adjusted to Vietnam's clock, it was a big annoyance to us as we were jetlagged and wanted to wake up mid-day. The banging was extremely loud and after suffering it for an hour we phoned the concierge. Their solution was a room change. A nuisance after unpacking and settling in, but a slightly better option. The noise continued but not as loud. We adjusted to the hours by the 2nd day of our stay and were out by 9am. The point here: if the hotel is to undergo noisy maintenance that affects the comfort levels of guests, then they should mention it at the point of booking. This gives guests the option of staying there or booking at an alternative hotel. It is unethical of the hotel to take in bookings and hold the guests hostage to noise once they have committed themselves.

“it was ok”

The position was good,easy walking distance to almost everything, though a little expensive for the quallity of the hotel generally. I was in a superior room. The front desk staff were very good, the cleaning staff were excellent, however, the staff in the dining room and bar left a lot to be desired, bordering on rude, maybe it was because I was a single female? The bed was about as hard as you could ever get as was the pillows. I would recommend the hotel based on its position.

“Not impressed”

The hotel and rooms are very clean. The showerhead in our room was not very good. We were there on our honeymoon and very other hotel that stayed in Vietnam went to a special effort, but Duxton didn't do anything. Another incident was when we went down stairs to get an Umbrella as it was raining outside, they said that all of them had been taken by other guests, so we couldn't have one. Every other hotels that we stayed in Vietnam provided Umbrella's in rooms. We got saked to our bones and even had to go home with wet clothes in our luggage then next day. This is very poor for a 4 star hotel in a city that has a wet and dry season. Not to have enough Umberlla's for all guests is very poor.
