Deluxe Room is not 32 m2, is 21 m2
I booked the Deluxe Room on Hotels.com listed as 32 m2. Upon arrival, they tried to downgrade me to a Superior Room without telling me, but I caught that before I went up to the room. They then escorted me up to the Deluxe Room, but it was only 21 m2. A far cry from the 32 m2 room that I booked. I pointed that out and they upgraded me to their Senior Deluxe Room that measures 30 m2. That's big enough for me. The wifi password they gave me, "familyinn" did not work, but I just hardwired to the hallway router instead to go online. There's coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

The hotel was close to everything we needed and the reception (booking) staff were extremely helpful, booking tours, changing money, organising taxis etc. the breakfasts were first rate and varied.

Sorely outdated, but clean and comfortable
Stayed at the Family Inn Saigon for a quick work trip. I wanted to stay away from the Ben Thanh shopping area so this looked a decent location and value for the money. My room was sorely outdated, the television emitted a high pitch frequency, and the lighting was abysmal. Breakfast was OK and the bed was OK as well. Don't expect anything fantastic here but it's also perfectly fine if you just need a place to sleep and is clean and functional.

This hotel is close to attractions, we stayed in the business room two queen size beds. Rooms were clean, but ceiling badly needs a fresh coat of paint. the TV is ancient. CRT type. the breakfast was decent. The only good thing about this hotel are friendly staff, they were very helpful. Is a decent place to stay, but my next visit would like to try other hotels nearby.

1- the staff is horrible, not helpful. 2- the room is not comfortable, the bed like a piece of wood . 3- if you don't want to get a rib off for extra charge then don't stay here . 4- I'm never preferred anyone to this hotel .

The 1st day I came to check in to the hotel I had a hard time. I showed and told the front office staff that I've booked a business room (double bed room for up to 4 people max). The lady kept insisting that I booked for 1 people. We argued and then she said she was going to upgrade me to a room and that only 3 people are allowed to check in, even if the room allows 4 people. The next day the same lady called and said only one person are allowed to eat breakfast for free the other two guest have to pay for their meal. I said that is insane, I booked a room for 4 people then all 4 people should be entitled for free breakfast. They kept repeating the same thing that only 1 person are allowed to eat, because the lose profit to the room that I'm staying. The Vietnamese people don't hold their standards, therefore I did not enjoy my stay here!! It's a bait and switch hotel. Never will stay here nor recommended others to stay here again. I travel to countries and in the states a lot never have I encountered the ordeal. there at the hotel. I did not enjoy my stay here!! It's a bait and switch hotel. Light in room was dark, not good for report making on business trip. Other, for servise was good and staff were kind enough. At restaurant, staff want to take back our dishes which become empty during the eating period (Not finish eating), it was not good for me but almost common for many hotels.( Maybe I should accept.)

Great district 1 Hotel for a mid-range budget
We stayed here as a family of four, and had two of the standard rooms. We were surprised by how fantastic this hotel was for the money. The rooms were spotless, and there was a constant stream of cleaners cleaning everything from the lobby to the restaurant. Although the rooms weren't overly modern, they weren't dated either. There was heaps of hot water, and a cheap mini-bar. The breakfast each morning was really good, and the staff kept the dishes filled, and kept on clearing plates from our table with a smile. After a couple of days, the lady at the egg-station knew our orders, and brought them to us, after we had sat down each morning We booked a number of tours through the front desk, and they were pretty reasonable, and of much better quality than a tour we had booked at a travel agents out on the street. Overall highly recommended and would happily stay there again

Comfortable Stay
We booked the Superior Room and got a beautiful room but with no window. The Manager on duty was kind enough to change our room for a window. We decided to have a late check-out by paying $20 for 5 extra hours. The room was beautiful well maintained bright and clean. The 2 double beds were soft and comfortable. AC worked well. The toilet and bath/shower was good with hot water. However, the bath-tub was unusable as there was no plug to hold the water. Breakfast was okay. Surrounding was not bad.

Central location close to park
Staff are friendly and not to pushy. Breakfast is very good and rooms a bit dated but comfortable. Still here as I write and have booked for couple of days at end of trip before flying home. They will look after some of our luggage while we are away. Booked train tickets at good price for us. Laundry bit of an issue. Was advised 3 dollars per kilo but actually charged per item so beware. Not too pricey but more than advised.

Hotel has easy access to all local attractions.
My hotel stay was pleasant except the hotel next door was undergoing construction repair so machine noise was constant in the morning at 8 am but it leveled in the evening when the shift ends. The staff was courteous and prompt whenever I need room service or assistance. The staff at the door was courteous & took care of my taxi need very quickly. I'm glad they were able to lend the helping hand for local transportation need.

Good hotel, friendly staff who are willing to accommodate most requests and speak good English. The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities. The only disappointments were the shower (not very powerful) and the breakfast was a little disappointing.

3.5 stars, excellent customer service, dated rooms
Stayed here several days. Staff is courteous and helpful. Not true 4 stars though, 3.5 stars much more accurate. Building and rooms are slightly dated. There are better 4 star hotels in the area for a bit more expensive. But Family Inn Saigon was still a positive experience. Cheap nightly rate. Got the job done. No complaints, and the staff was excellent.

Nice hotel
Family Inn Saigon hotel is a nice hotel with a safe environment and excellent staff especially the front desk personnel and the one in charge in the transpo. They are of a big help to us. The breakfast is ok..The only thing that needs improvement is our room air conditioner and the pillows and bed needs cleaning or better yet change the pillow..all in all, our experience is ok..

Basic hotel don't expect luxury
It's a 3 star hotel so there should be no expectations of anything fancy. The rooms are clean and basic facilities exist. Beware some rooms have no windows. Staff are incredibly helpful and polite. Breakfast is solid if unspectacular. Overall it's fine if you need a place for the night and plan on spending your days outdoors. Location is perfect.

I TRAVEL TO VN VERY OFTEN SO AND I ALWAYS BOOK HOTEL ONLINE, I BOOK THIS ROOM FOR ALMOST A MONTH WITH THE PRICE THAT I EXPECT IS GOOD. I CHECK IN ON TIME, FRONT DESK SAID MY ROOM DOES NOT HAVE WINDOW, I DID NOT AWARE OF IT, SO FRONT DESK WAS NICE GAVE ME A ROOM WITH WIDOW, I WAS NICE BUT AFTER I MOVED IN THE ROOM, FOUND OUT WATER OF SYSTEM WAS SO BATH, EVERY TIME I TURN ON WATER, IT WAS ALL OVER THE FLOW, I WAS FAIL BECAUSE OF WATER ON FLOOR. IT WAS RAINED TWO DAYS DURING MY STAY...WATER ALL OVER IN THE ROOM, IT GOT THROUGH THE WINDOW. I COULD NOT SAY ANY THING, BC THEY ALREADY GAVE ME THE ROOM WITH WINDOW EVEN THOSE I BOOK THE ROOM DID NOT SAY THAT IT IS HAVE NO WINDOW. THE ROOM IS OLD, TV IS VERY OLD HAVE NO HDMI CABLE, BREAK FIRST IS NOT TOO BAD BUT YOU NEED TO A WARE THAT CONE UP EARLY OR NO MORE DRINK, THEY ONLY HAVE A LITTLE DRINK. THEY MAKE EGGS RIGHT IN THE BREAK FIRST ROOM, WHICH IS VERY GOOD BUT IT MAKE YOU SMELL VERY BAD. YOU NEED TO EAT BREAK FIRST THEN TAKE A BATH OR YOU CAN NOT WALK OUT THE DOOR BECAUSE YOU CLOTHING AND BODY WILL SMELL LIKE DEAD BODY. THE ONLY THING I LIKE IS STAFFS ARE VERY NICE, AND GOOD LOCATION. PRICE IS NOT THAT GREAT, THREE STARS AND TWO STARS AT HO CHI MINH CITY IS NOT THAT DIFFERENT. YOU CAN HAVE BETTER PRICE AT OTHER HOTEL ON BUI THI XUAN STREET THAT MUCH BETTER. OR THE SAME ROOM CONDITION YOU CAN HAVE A BETTER PRICE ON THAT STREET OF DISTRICT 01, I USE TO LIVE AT OTHER HOTEL ON BUI THI XUAN STREET, SOME HOTEL IS SMALL BUT ROOM IS VERY NEW AND CLEAN, PRICE IS BETTER TOO.

You get what you pay for here. It is a good all round basic hotel. It is clean, staff are friendly and it is in a good location . The elevator is pretty slow though, most times be prepared for a wait, unless you prefer to walk up. Apart from this, I would recommend this hotel.

I was in HCMC for a 8 days. Luckily I only booked 3 nights here. The hotel itself is just old and tired. 1st day it took 4 rooms before I got one where the air con worked. Then the door lock broke, the water from the shower goes everywhere but down the drain. The television are ancient pre flat screens with channels coming and going. Then the one and only lift kept breaking down or the house cleaning/kitchen staff would override the call button for their purposes. Do yourself a big favour and go elsewhere. I moved after my 3 nights to a real 4 star at a similar price that had a pool. I think as a hotel catering for Westerners the Reception Staff should have a decent command of English, unfortunately most missed out here too.

The hotel was basic but had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was good but wasn't replenished enough. Sometimes there wouldn't be food in the containers even though there was still about an hour left. The staff was very kind and willing to help with anything you need. The location was great. You can walk to many attractions or take a taxi for a very low fare.

Average hotel. I didn't except the room has no window...the room is spacious for single traveler anyway. ごく普通のホテルですが、窓がありませんでした。一人には十分なスペースがあるので、息苦しさはありませんが。朝食も美味しいとは言えなかったので、2日目からは食べずに出かけ、外で食べていました。

Awesome Hotel
With the exception of having only one lift, this is an awesome hotel. The staff were excellent, always helpful, friendly and efficient. When it was raining someone always came out to the taxi with an umbrella to escort us into the hotel. The breakfast was great and although we had a triple room but were still very comfortable.

Decent hotel, clean. Only one elevator, very slow and inconvenience(and hot) Staff is nice. Breakfast is decent. Hotel staff will put you in room settings based on the number of your party and does not consider your request for room settings. Most room are smoking and still have smoke smell (very strong) even when you request non-smoking rooms.

Reasonably priced hotel close to the action!
The staff was very accommodating and were ready to help us however we needed. The room was clean, spacious and had a great air unit. Being from the U.S. a well working air conditioning unit is a necessity and this one worked quite well. The travel agent at the hotel was knowledgeable of the tours we wanted to take, worked with us to set them up and even called for a ride to the airport for free because we purchased our tours through them. She did however provide us with inaccurate information on check out; she said it was 14:00 and come to find out it was actually noon. The receptionist working when we discovered this was pretty short with me and said "you should have asked the desk, not her". I didn't ask her - she told me. It wasn't worth fighting with him but I didn't appreciate his rudeness. The breakfast was wonderful. Each morning there was a wide array of dishes to choose from; more than we expected and it was all kept fresh. The restaurant staff was always friendly and willing to make things just as we asked. Overall, I would absolutely return to this location, given a chance to come back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Comfortable and clean. Five minute taxi to Ben Thanh market and about fifteen to the airport. Didn't get the robe and slippers promised but it was good value anyway.
