Central location colonial stylePosted Jul 23, 2014
The Grand is a good quality hotel in the French colonial style located centrally in district 1. Well within walking distance of most attractions such as the Reunification Palace, Ben Thanh markets etc Hotel facilities are adequate, breakfast buffet is above average. I recommend the dedicated Pho station and iced Vietnamese coffee.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel, great breakfast buffet that caters for both Asians and Caucasians. So central to everything that you can walk to, shops, restaurants, market, etc. I love this hotel , lovely staff, very helpful and friendly I stayed here each time I come to Vietnam. Highly recommended . Regards Marcel Nguyen

Very noisy!!!!Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: The rooftop bar with his amazing view.
Cons: Staff should speak English.
Location: Location is really great and central. No street noise.
This hotel has a very great location. The rooftop bar has a wonderful view of the city. The pool is cute but no sun because of its location. The staff is not too bad but it's very difficult to communicate because they don't speak English. During my stay the hotel was very noisy for refurbishment and Expedia didn't inform me about that.

Met expectationsPosted May 17, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Food choices at the roof top restaurant were distinctly western, so more diversity there would be good
The Grand Hotel Saigon is a well located, well appointed hotel and is good value. Very comfortable and modern, excellent staff, good wifi, generous breakfast and a nice pool area which is a refuge from the heat and humidity!

Comfortable and convenientPosted May 2, 2014
Pros: Comfort, situation, facilities, breakfast buffet.
Cons: Shower recess in the rooms leaked. Some staff were a little off-hand.
Location: Find the little food shops just a short walk from the area for food - they are more authentic, much cheaper and delicious.
The hotel is well situated, within easy walking distance of iconic spots in Ho Chi Minh City - the Post Office, the Cathedral, markets and War Remnants Museum. For those prepared to brave the traffic, the river is also easily accessible. Rooms (we had Junior Suites on the 10th floor) are spacious and comfortable, well serviced and well appointed. Wi-fi is available and effective everywhere in the hotel. Breakfast buffet is extensive with something for every taste.

Hotel Fine, Staff just O.K.Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: breakfast buffet
Cons: front desk staff could use customer service training.
Location: excellent location within walking distance of most major attractions
The hotel lobby is nice, as was the large breakfast variety. and The hotel rooms were comfortable enough. I had to ask the housekeeping staff to clean the bathtub on two separate occasions. The hotel roof restaurant served cold food. Nice view - but eat somewhere else. Room service was quick and the food arrived hot and tasty. We found the front desk staff to be almost rude on each occasion we had to get local currency. Both times there were at least three people working at the desk and we were ignored for several minutes. That was disappointing.

Close to the river for boat tripsPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Very clean and pleasant place to come back to in the evenings. Large variety for breakfast
Great area for Dining but this is in the Tourist area and Financial district, you don't have to go far to see where real Vietnamese live
