Pros: Old 1930s hotel excellently maintained.
Cons: Minor power outages in room caused by overload?
Location: Near Ben Thranh Market, Riverside, and many cafes.
Excellent stay, good breakfast, and good location.

Not what we paid for.

Posted Apr 14, 2015
On arrival, staff attempted to charge us for having a second person in the room despite having paid for two people. Paid for a room in the new tower - we were given a room in the old section surrounded by rooms being renovated. Despite being a non smoking room, the cigarette smell from room next door was seeping under the connecting room door. Exceptionally busy and consequently inattentive staff. Do not recommend this hotel - there are far better in Ho chi minh for a similar price!

Nice enough...

Pros: location
Cons: include more in your rate...
Location: just fine
decent location but felt that there was an extra charge for everything. staff were friendly, and in one case exceptionally helpful tracking down a mobile phone left in a taxi, but management seemed to have very strict guidelines and i felt 'nickel and dime'd'

Don't come here with a Viet girlfriend

The hotel is genuinely a classic building with a good Reno. Pool only good for a dip but a good option to have. They seem to be hung up on local morals around non married guests.

Central location with all of the amenities one can need including business center, restaurants, bar with a view and airport transportation and extensive breakfast buffet. One can easily walk to shopping malls, shops, restaurants, some nightlife including the Opera House, Sax and Jazz and the Hard Rock and sights. There are even two Starbucks within a couple of blocks, as well as 24 hour convenience stores across the street.

Nice hotel close to everything in downtown Saigon

We travel to Saigon very often; this time we stayed three nights at The Grand Saigon Hotel. It turned out this is the best hotel so far for us. You will be happy if you stay here.
