“Good value”

Tis hotel is good value especially with the grand Opening rate. The location is ideal being a block away from the market and close enough to walk to other downtown attraction. The room was a good size and the public areas of the hotel were spectacular

“Very pleased with our stay - would recommend!”

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and were very pleased with our accommodation. The bed was so comfortable we wanted to take it home and the pillows were fab! Breakfast was included and we were provided with a broad choice from cereal and fried breakfast to the more traditional vietnamese breakfast. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke reasonable English - we were able to make ourselves understood. I would recommend the room with a window as friends of ours didn't have one and their room definately appeared more dingy! We had a great view of the city and were so high up that we were not affected by the hustle and bustle of the roads, particularly because most of the time we had the window shut and the air con on. The swimming pool was more of a place to cool off than to do exercise but this was all we wanted anyway. The pool area is fairly small (there are about 6 sun loungers) which some may find off putting but we never had any problems getting a spot to sunbathe and most of the time there were 3 of us. The location of this hotel was also very good - 2 minute walk from Ben Tang market. We walked to the Post Office and the War Museum. We also booked 2 trips through the hotel (they were well priced) - Mekong Delta (take a packed lunch as the food was awful - this is the standard food for all organised tours not just this hotel!) and Coo Chi tunnels. On both occasions we had an air con bus. Really great trip!

Fantastic hotel, for the price we were very happy with our stay. The staff were the most welcoming and helpful people. Breakfeast was fantastic. Would stay again.

“Vietnam a good place to visit.”

The hotel is located in an excellent position being very close to the market and local shops and restaurants. The pool is good but the area around it is very small and does not often accommodate the number of people in the pool in terms of lounges. The water was very cool(probably too cool) and yet the temperature and humidity was very hot. The breakfast was quite good and the wireless internet excellent. Vietnam was a pleasant surprise and good place to visit. Eula and David

“Well located, well priced, staff try hard.”

The Grand Silverland is a good choice for somebody wanting a well located, reasonably priced hotel that has a decent buffet breakfast, a small pool that provided a welcome break from from the heat and hotel staff eager to please. The hotel is walking distance from most attractions and is easily accessed by taxis. The taxi rate to the hotel is half what the hotel charges so grab your own taxi and save some dollars (taxi from airport to hotel flat rate from taxi booking desk at airport 160000 dong- $8, a slightly higher metered fare was paid on the return to the airport) Two tours were booked via the hotel tour desk for Saigon Express tours and were charged at the same rate as if we went direct. Buffet breakfast was the same every day but had enough variety as to not get bored by the food. The booking through Expedia went smoothly and we booked in at 1230pm without a problem. The rooms aren't massive but comfortable, premium deluxe offers window and corner spa. For the price I would find it hard to fault.

“Great hotel at a reasonable price.”

Great staff that was friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and pretty spacious for an Asian hotel. Nice free breakfast buffet that was included every morning. Small rooftop pool and restaurant, but it was still nice. Only weird thing is they only provide one hotel key card even though there was two of us in one room. Right in the center of the city and literally a minute walk to Ben Thanh Market and loads of restaurants!

“Grand Silverland rooms disappointing”

I booked the superior deluxe room. Great photo on website, city views. The room we were taken to on arrival was so small we had nowhere for our suitcases, and hardly room to move, and the view was a dirty wall of a very close building. Went down and asked reception to show us other rooms, they said we must pay more. I said that the internet photo was very misleading and asked to see more superior deluxe rooms, and we were shown a larger room, still with dowdy furniture and with a great view, but told we could not have it as it was saved for anniversaries! I wondered what I had to do to create an anniversary on the spot, as $84 pn is quite expensive for a tiny room in HCMC, I have had so many better rooms in other hotels for less. Soon she came back and said we could have this room. Just a warning to other travellers - don't have to take what you are given, ask for better. The breakfast was ok. The hotel was in a convenient area. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend the hotel.
