Famous hotel in Saigon.Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The location and rooms.
Cons: Some of the staff!
This is a large traditional hotel in District 1 of HCMC and is placed very well to see many of the attractions and sights. Having booked it on Expedia, the room we were given was not as described in the booking. A call to reception soon changed this and we were upgraded for free but staff were not very friendly.

Just okay....Posted Aug 13, 2014
Location was next to The Opera House and a 8-10min walk to Ben Thanh market. The room was big but things and decor in the room looks tired and dated. Hotel is very strict about replenishing the mineral water. It was a strict NO when we ask for 1 bottle of water from the Housekeeping maid on the morning before we checked out at noon. I personally feel that this is not a nice gesture from a 4* hotel. The room given to us was also pretty noisy at night as one of the balcony door couldn't be closed fully. The breakfast was average and nothing much to brag about. On the whole, I will not choose to stay in this hotel in my trip back to HCM as I belived there are better ones around with the same price.

Unbelievably amazing hotelPosted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Everything! But particularly the traditional French decor and amazing breakfast.
Location: Notre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh market, Post Office, Opera House
After touring Southeast Asia for 2 weeks, my husband and I decided to "splurge" for our final night's stay in Saigon before heading back to the States. The Continental did not disappoint. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff was friendly and hospitable, the room was elegant, clean, and had amazing views, and the location was perfect. We will recommend this hotel to all of our friends who are traveling to Saigon.

Classic hotelPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The location, and the history of the hotel.
Cons: The beds..............the mattress sagged in the middle.
Initial contact with reception staff was less than impressive. They tried to stick me with a lesser room than what I had booked and paid for. Not a great start. It took some convincing to give me the room that I had paid for. Turns out that they had sold out of all the types of rooms that I had booked, so they upgraded me for free.............after some work on my part. I felt quite diminished by the whole affair.

Great location, awesome balcony over looked streetPosted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Great location, great price, breakfast in the courtyard is awesome. Safe. Friendly. Great balcony.
Cons: Carpets in rooms are dirty, would change them out or at least have them cleaned frequently. We would have liked more tour options.
Location: Walking distance to many activities like shopping. Short cab ride to other areas.many great restaurants in walking distance. Very safe.
Awesome hotel, staff are excellent. Had to change hotels for one night due to the hotel being full when we booked. They gave us back the room we were in,very accommadating. Would recommend this hotel, breakfast in the courtyard is awesome. Staff in the courtyard are very very pleasant. We would stay here again.

Central ho chi minhPosted Mar 24, 2014
This was a lovely grand hotel situated in the centre of ho chi Minh city opposite the opera house. We had a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the square, which was spacious clean and furnished in traditional style. Small gestures like a chocolate and fresh flower delivered to our room each day were appreciated. Breakfast was served in a lovely courtyard under very old trees.

Pros: The location is brilliant and the suites are very spacious.
Cons: The service.....definitely!
This is my 2nd visit. Hotel is in a brilliant location and the suites are very spacious. This visit however I found the service VERY disappointing. The suite was booked for 3 people, however the amenities, such as towels, glasses, drinking water etc only accommodated 2 guests. I called reception to order towels.....they never came. I rang housekeeping for a wine glass.....that never came! The door to the suite had a safety chain....that did not lock into anything! I felt insecure as a woman travelling with my two children. When we checked out, I was charged for 1 bottle of water....yet there was not a 3rd bottle of water supplied for the 3rd paying guest. Overall , I would hesitate to stay with Continental again. Disappointed.
