Location and Style

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: It is in the heart of Saigon. The architecture and style is reminiscent of the French period.
Cons: Fan in the room
Location: Fantastic Spanish Tapas behind the Opera House. On the corner of Hai Ba Trung & Nguyen Sieu (look up, its on the 3 rd fl). enter from N.Sieu.
We had only 1 night in Saigon so this Hotel is ideal for location - right amongst District 1. Close to the high class fashion brand shops, but also very close to the lively street market area and Ben Than markets. Walk downstairs from the hotel and you are right in the Opera House square - which is a lively hang-out for young Saigon people at night. The room was fantastic - very olde worlde but with all the mod cons. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be a ceiling fan, instead of having to use the air con. If you want accommodation with character and style then Saigon Continental is the place.

Good location but dated hotel

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Bathroom can be modernized. Same with room presentation.
Pleasant stay. Bathrooms can be improved. There was a bat flying around on the 3rd floor but staff did nothing about it. Reception staff are nice and helpful.

Posted Jun 26, 2015

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros:
Location:

Water in the shower sucks!

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Lobby and the front desk staff
Cons: Water pressure and new carpet oolong the hallway.
Location: Location was excellent. Shopping mall right across the street and open markets nearby.
Hotel looks nice at the entrance lobby but the inside looks really old. Carpet needs to be replaced. Hardly any water in the shower. Water preassure is really low and most times, no hot water. Not enough room to put your toiletries in the bathroom. It only has he sink and no counter for anything. Front office staff though are really helpful and courteous. Breakfast buffet was also good and has variety of food.

Value for money

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Location and its history
Cons: Nothing really
Location: Easy walking distance to markets, restaurants, post Office
Loved this hotel for its history, close proximity to city centre. Easy walking distance to markets and shops. Room very spacious, breakfast buffet amazing. We would stay again but not in hot season. Hotel does not have a pool. That was the only negative

Good location but Poor furnishings

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Location & breakfasts,
Cons: Hotel did not bother with requests written to Expedia! Requested for room with good view but given a room without view but looking into air cond units
Pros: a) Central location in HCM with nice exteriors. b) Nice breakfast room and food with friendly attentive staff. Cons: a) Requested for room with good view but placed in room with a small window looking at air conditioning units!! b) Very small single beds although room space allows for queen size beds. Beds totally not befitting Continental brand c) Poor access. Steps into hotel and to elevators, not user friendly at all. Why no small ramps instead? Bureaucratic system or poor management?

Central Saigon

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Location was great for getting around, however being in an area with more expensive hotels, the shops and restaurants are priced higher as well.
Cons: Carpets need serious updating. Stained and worn. Blackout curtains need to be put into the room.
Location: Opera across the street. river a couple blocks away. Close to the bus depot and market.
Nice old historical hotel. We had to move rooms the first day as they were doing construction underneath our room. We were switched to a much larger and spacious room. The 2nd night we were there there was a wedding taking place and the music being played was in an open garden area therefore all guests were subjected to the noise until 11:00pm. Not acceptable to those looking to relax and not be bothered by excess noise.

Good location that is all. Room was dirty and no one had ran a vacuum through it for probably at least 1 year. Room next door was a building site asked to move rooms but was denied. The breakfast was crap. AC could not be controlled.

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros:
Cons:
Location:
