Nice colonial style and friendly, but....Posted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
.,.. not great for a business man. Nowhere could I get a decent Wifi connection to work, and the LAN cable connected to my laptop in my room wasn't much better. Working remotely from my office in UK was very hard. Also no power socket near the bed meant I had to ask for an extension cord to have anything plugged in of my own, at bedside. Buffet great but expensive, better off to go to Gala Buffet Hotel laundry pricey, better of to use Cosmo Laundry who were excellent. Having said that, the hotel is very comfortable, good aircon, very friendly, and a a great location. if only they could sort out the internet for business people.!

A great option for a visit to HCM CityPosted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel really is a grand old hotel in great shape. The pool is a little small but otherwise the hotel and service were good.

Wonderful staff, charming and modernPosted Aug 10, 2013
Pros: Bed and pillows and staff and food and location
Cons: nothing really
There are some hotels that are nice, everything works and thats great and then there are some hotels that are an 'experience' This was an experience. I got a great deal and intended to stay one night and I was upgraded. My two mates were staying up the road and I intended on joining them (to save a few bucks as their hotel was $30 cheaper per night) but decided to stay another 3. Got the same rate which was great. The staff are lovely and not the types that seem like they're looking for a tip all the time (but they deserve it) always smiling, calling you by your name after a few days - really nice bunch and the managers / owners should be proud of them. Room was immaculate every time I returned. Breakfast overlooking the Saigon River is amazing (even the bacon was cooked to my western tastes) which is something you dont always get when in Asia. Pancakes, Omelettes, fruit and oh the vietnamese coffee. I cant wait to go back to this hotel one day - there were however a few minor issues. Wifi a bit slow but ok (and there is a LAN so it's not really an issue) Gym is a bit old but everything you need is there Spa treatments were OTT for me but there are plenty of other options within 50 metres Sometimes it was hard to get a line out (on the phone) but a quick call to the front desk sorted this every time. Thank you to all the staff - especially Vivien who organised my tickets to the puppet show (for the same price I would have got them at the door) Great Hotel !

Beautiful, old world hotel. Decor is outdated but nonetheless is very very clean and comfortable. Pool on the smaller side but also well maintained. Rooftop bar is nice for the breeze but drinks are well overpriced.

Nice colonial hotel but feels a bit tired.Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: The history of the place
Cons: Needs modernizing and better customer service if it wants to call itself a five star hotel.
Location: Good location within walking distance of city centre.
Nice building and room but compared to other colonial hotels it feels dated. We also had a problem as a member of staff let themselves into our room at 5.45am. When we told the front desk they didn't really seem to see it as an issue. My girlfriend travels alot for work and I wouldn't want her staying here in her own for this reason.

The hotel is truly majestic. It is gorgeous!!Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: The linens and bed were fresh and comfortable. The staff is great and the location is perfect.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Location: It is near all sorts of shopping and restaurants. It is exactly where you want to be.
The staff is wonderful. The outside restaurant has a view that is a feast for the eyes and the rooms are divinely comfortable. We loved it!

A very nice surprise! Better than expected.Posted Jul 23, 2013
Pros: Love that the 1925 origins of the hotel still were present in the modern decorum.
Very impressed with the staff, delicious welcome drinks, beautiful hotel, super comfy beds, yummy breakfast, awesome flamenco band on Sunday night. We had a great time. Wish we stayed here longer.
