Friendly helpfull staff. Clean down a nice hem. Only two down sides for me. Remove the key and power goes out ok but fridge also goes out. Hard asain beds as per the norm. Have stayed her many times. Not fancy but does the job

Nice inexpensive hotel with elevator
I arrrived after midnight and they were waiting for me. Unlike many hotels in this price range it has an elevato. There are three steps up to the elevator but the elevator works. The room was clean and quiet. The location is down a hem so a taxi has to drop you at the end and you must get your luggage twenty meters to the hotel. It is in the center of the western tourist area so getting anything you need is easy. I will stay there again.

Very friendly staff and cheap prices for extras
The staff are extremely helpful and we're so grateful when we said we would need to stay one more night. The Cu Chi tour, bus ticket and water prices were all very reasonable.

A gem of a find!
Perfect location in District 1. The service and friendliness cannot be faulted. All employees were very friendly , however Lee was especially fabulous. They all take pride in their hotel and nothing was too much touble for them. Excellent communication by email.

Great room but the receptionist ruined it.
This is the first negative review of a hotel I have done. We had stayed at the Kien hotel opposite and had issues with the wifi so we moved to KIM as it was similar priced. We made it clear on arrival that we needed wifi to work on our laptops and the lady had said its not a problem and if we enjoy it we can book another night if someone cancels. Honestly, first impressions were good, she seemed very nice and the room was good as well. Very clean and comfy, no issues there. Wifi however was terrible, not just a little slow, I mean 50kbps (6KB/s downloading) terrible. It got so bad that we had to use another hotels wifi because it was stronger. Obviously this wasnt for us and we just put it down to the area. Heres where things went sour. She phoned us up later on and told us someone had cancelled and she can book us in for more nights. My girlfriend had politely told her that we would be moving on because we need stronger wifi, to which the receptioniat hung up. Fine, maybe she was just in a hurry. I noticed that our floor didnt have an access point but there was one on the floor below where I was getting 30mbps. When we got down stairs the receptionist started almost yelling at us, saying the wifi is fine and that they checked it. I asked if there was a room on the fourth floor and she got really abusive towards us and told us 'you go other hotel, no room for you'. Frankly after having abuse hurled at us, it ruined our night as we were polite about everything.

Great Location.
The Kim Hotel was a little tough to initially locate being access is through an alley. This was nice at night for keeping the room quiet. The staff was very helpful assisting with signing up for excursions. The room had both AC and a fan. The hotel is in the backpackers area of District one which has a nightlife comparable to Bourbon Street in New Orleans every night.

Great location!
We stayed in the Kim Hotel for 3 nights in February 2018. Hotel is in a great location, central to everything you need to see and within walking distance to Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square Centre and lots of other shops. Shopping in Saigon was very good. The area of the hotel is in party central, so we had lots of choices for dining out and entertainment. The hotel doesn't have restaurant, but there are many small cheap restaurants in the alley where the hotel is located. The room had a balcony which was handy as my friend is a smoker The room was basic, but clean. Very good value for the price we paid. Hotel staff were very friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Kim Hotel.

A little bait and switch, but ok stay
I can't actually comment on the Kim Hotel, as once I arrived they told me that they didn't have my room available, and moved me across the street to the Khien Hotel, which is similar, but older and not recently renovated. The Khien has an Indian restaurant as the lobby, so the smell permeates the elevator/lobby, although hallways and rooms were mostly smell-free. As I had business to take care of and just needed a place to sleep, I accepted the change, but if you stay here don't bother paying for any upgraded rooms like I did, as you will most likely not even get a room in the hotel you chose. Otherwise the room was basic but ok for a few days, decent selection of cable channels and a small balcony, although most of the lights didn't work but the two main industrial fluorescent tubes in the bathroom and bedroom. Hot water was iffy at times,and flow a bit weak, but overall not a terrible place to stay if you want to be near the walking street and other daytime sights in District 1.

Nice little 2 1/2 star for budget travelers.
This is a great little hotel in the action but not in the action, what I mean is this is on an alley way between both party streets but if you need sleep at night it is quite. Nothing really negitive to say about this place other than the beds are hard, but that seems to be the norm in SE Asia. I stayed in a alley facing balcony room not sure what the rooms are like on the back side but if anything I would bet they are clean. Be warned the elevator is only rated for 6 people which is funny because I got in it by myself with my back pack and could hardly turn around, not sure ehere the other 5 are suppose to stand!!

Very good. Staff helpful. Perfect location. Easy walk to points of interest.$26/n great value. Punjab indian cafe opposite very good and oaais for buffet breakfast Would use again.

Friendly staff. I had a room at the top, so fairly quiet. Lots of restaurants & bars nearby. Also, easy getting to/from airport via bus 152. (Much cheaper than taxi)...

The location cannot be beat. Room is relatively comfortable and clean. Bed is okay. Not too loud despite proximity to busy area. Staff is a bit abrupt and insisted on coming into our room to refill fridge while we were sleeping.... a bit weird. Good value for money.

This Hotel was just alright
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The staff weren't super friendly but they weren't rude either. The rooms were very clean and the hotel well maintained. The location was right by a really busy street with lots of restaurants. There just seemed to be something missing from the experience. I think there are better places to stay but for the price this hotel wasn't bad.

The room I had booked and paid for online wasn't available so the owner or manager offered me an upgraded room but asked for more money. I refused and instead ended up staying in a lower priced room. Most hotels would give guests the upgraded room free of charge if the hotel had mistakenly accepted a booking for a room that wasn't available.

First time in HCMC
I booked a room with a window but I may aa well had paid less as the window was so far up the wall that I couldnt see out. I climbed on a chair to see outside but there was nothing to see apart from a roof and walls. A beautiful cell! The room was clean and hotel location convenient for sightseeing.

Loved The Kim Hotel. We upgraded to a larger room with a balcony (if you are planning to stay here, we would recommend staying in the room with a balcony as it is large and spacious and was probably what made our stay so great!). Staff are friendly but don't hassle you, particularly with cleaning the room, they just wait until you get up and clean then (if you leave the sign asking for the room to be cleaned). They have a well secured safe in the room, which was handy as it meant that we didn't need to carry all of our things in the hot sun. The hotel is close to lots of sights (walking distance approximately 20/30 minutes) - the cathedral, national museum and reunification palace etc. Lots of good food places to eat at nearby. They lock the doors after midnight so you have to ring the bell to be let in, but this wasn't a problem as we were never kept waiting for longer than a minute! Overall just a really great place to stay for the price you pay. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City and would stay here again.

Last night in Asia
The room was the nicest that we stayed in during the two week stay in Asia. All the beds we slept on we're hard with mostly hard pillows and this room was no different, but it was clean, cool, seemed newly remodeled, and had a separate shower with a curtain. The owner/ staff were great, welcoming and helpful.

Greeted with a plate of fresh dragonfruit and a drink as soon as I arrived. Always very helpful for tour bookings and they also arranged for my train ticket to Danang to be delivered to the hotel while I was out. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is in a central location for the market and some great local restaurants.

Was driven to another hotel after they overbooked this one. Kim 2 Hotel is where they took us. I paid for a bigger room they gave me a smaller room. Immediately as soon as I walk in the staff started harassing me trying to sell me tours, asking me over and over what am I doing tomorrow?!?!? After a long flight just what I want to hear. The shower had no pressure and the wifi did not work at all because we were on the top floor. When I informed the staff about it they just blew me off. Stay away form this hotel. There are so many better ones in the backpacker district.

Very nice budget hotel
This is a small hotel owned by a family. They have obviously upgraded their property several times and the rooms are very nice for this price. I had a window, the AC worked, the fan worked, sufficient number of electrical outlets, the hot water worked, etc. What I really appreciated is the in-room safe to keep my belongings. The staff are very nice and greet you constantly when going in and out. They serve meals at any time of the day and evening. It tastes good. The location is good for all the things one would want to experience in District 1 of Ho Chi Min City. The only issue is that I had a friend who arrived late at night and she was not allowed to visit my room. During the day, I had no problems with visitors.

The stay was great, except that the room we booked was not available, so were upgraded to the deluxe room, but had to pay for it. At first we thought it was a Vietnamese thing, but this happened elsewhere and we never had to pay extra. Otherwise, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the room was really great for the price, admittedly worth the extra $2 a night.

Nice clean hotel close to the city centre and close to loads of restaurants.They can arrange day trips for you.Worth getting them to organise a taxi from the airport as it saves hassle.Fridge in room is well stocked and very reasonable prices. Aircon worked well.Staff very helpful.

We stayed at the Kim Hotel in late March 2015 and highly recommend it. It is a great hotel for the price (~$18/night plus $2 tax). First of all they offer a convenient airport pick up service for $12 which was $3 cheaper than the airport taxi service. Secondly the room, linens, and towels were cleaned every day of our 4 night stay. No problems with plumbing which was great! A little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights from Bui Vien street but its central location by the park makes it an easy walk to pretty much everything. Staff is very helpful with good english speaking skills. Would gladly stay here again!

Hotel airport pickup worth the 13$,hotel is down a small side street. Room was large for Asian hotel. Staff was friendly,room was clean.If you want a filter coffee Starbucks around the corner.

We only stayed here one night before leaving for a nicer hotel in a much better part of town. Pros: clean rooms, lots of tours offered, fruit and water offered when checking in Cons: inconsistent water pressure, located in backpacker area (lots of touts, grungy travelers, inauthentic side of Saigon, pickpockets everywhere); hotel owner said she overbooked her rooms and would give us an upgraded room if we paid more money... Seems to me that if she made the mistake of overbooking our room we should not have to pay for an "upgraded room"... Also, it turns out that this is a regular scam that she tried to pull on travelers at her hotel to make a few extra bucks; lastly, breakfast not included. Conclusion: Do yourself a favor and stay in the dong khoi area. Much nicer neighborhood, central, and you can find a hotel for an extra $10 a night that includes a filling breakfast without being surrounded by backpackers and people asking you to buy stuff all the time.
