“Comfortable, but not perfect”
The Lavendar hotel was comforable and clean. Nice lobby, great wifi and great location, right near the big market and within walking distance to most sites. The staff didn't go out of their way, but they were very friendly and professional.
Our two big gripes with the hotel are that:
1. Many of the rooms do not have windows (rather they have fake windows that are just hung on the wall with a light behind them.
2. The breakfast was awful. It is a buffet with a weird conglomeration of things, including stale cereal, sausage that tastes like mystery meat hot dogs, day old eggs, white bread and generic supermarket pastries. Even the Vietnamese items were subpar.
There were lots of pluses (location, cleanliness, GREAT foot massage), but if you stay, get a room with a window and skip breakfast!
