“Would definitely return for the value”

The Palace staff was helpful and competent. The roof-top restaurant was pleasant and the food was good and at a reasonable price. We had great service there. Most of the doormen spoke English which was very helpful when getting a cab and giving the cabbie instructions. The hotel is located within walking distance of a number of good restaurants, shopping and parks. We extended our stay there and got a slightly better per diem for our last five days than we did through Expedia.

“Would go back”

Stayed at Palace as Rex booked out, and in same neighbourhood. Room great, comfortable. Pool small but not used by too many so ok for us. Breakfast buffet looked great but a little disappointing. Fresh cooked eggs were great. We had late flight out of HCMC, late checkout was not available due to hotel being booked out, but bag minding service very eficient and we were able to use pool & ameneties to shower & change before leaving for airport.

“Great location”

Overall our stay was very enjoyable. We were able to book all our tours through the concierge and it is within walking distance from the benh tanh markets and a few larger department stores. All in all it's a great hotel but don't bother eating in as room service was a bit average.

“Good value for money”

Nice and clean, only issue was got a smoking floor/room, but didn't ask for a change. Otherwise all good.

The maintenance of the hotel might not be OK, but the maintenance staff is excelent, while our luggage got luck or faucet came out yellow water. They could fix it, excellent!

“Good as a four-star hotel”

The price, the quality of service, the cleanliness of my room etc. are quite good as a four star hotel. Just disappointing was the noisy sound (probably)from a neighboring bar, which continued until midnight.

“Decent Option”

Stayed here for one night after arriving in Ho Chi Minh City. Reasonable rate for the room that I reserved, and staff was helpful upon check in. However, I separately arranged for pickup at the airport through the hotel, which the hotel confirmed by email but never picked me up at the airport. When I asked about this at the desk, the staff was friendly but simply smiled and gave a meek apology, saying that they didn't know anything about it. Otherwise, a good value, clean room, and comfortable hotel.

“Great room for half the price of others”

I liked this hotel, we stayed at the Duxton for our first 2 nights in HCMC and this one was right over the road, smaller rooms but well appointed and half the price. The staff were not as all over you as the Duxton, which I prefer, always helpful but not crawling all over you. Room was clean and smoke free and there was even a little balcony so you could step out and watch the chaos in the street. Breakfast was free and perfectly fine and there was free wifi in the room (which the Duxton didn't have.) Overall very satisfied with the hotel, would probably try to go a little cheaper next time as our needs are pretty basic.

“Hotel is good, the location is very good, but service is very bad.”

I have stayed 2 times, first 2 nights I was given an old room, awful, dirty, it was not as the picture I saw. Eventhough when I came back from Hanoi I was given better room, but I have been already disappointed with their service.

“Survived”

We really struggled with this hotel as many of the staff were very accommodating and skilled in providing service, there were many who did not have a clue. We arrived in Saigon very early in the morning and received consideration and support and it was not until we had access to our room that we started experiencing problems. The hot water in the shower was really difficult to turn off. The tap fitting would just keep turning around. It was really scary as well as very dangerous. We reported this to reception and also that our air conditioning was not working in our room. Neither things were sorted out during our stay. A man with a spanner came in at one stage but nothing was achieved even though he indicated it was fixed. Our sons were in another room and although their air conditioning worked the only window in the room actually faced out into the corridor! We organised one tour through their tourist desk and decided on another one but could not actually locate the desk staff despite regular reassurances from reception staff that she would be back in five minutes. It was about 48 hours before we were able to catch up with her.
