Surprisingly good place to experience HCMC from.Posted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Cheapest hotel with pool in HCMC. Good breakfast (eat up and skip lunch!). Balcony a fine observation post, and relatively quiet too. Try room 912.
Cons: The masseuse was not very professional (!). Nothing to plug your iPod into.
Location: Experience the chaos of the streets and then explore the alleys for a glimpse of life for the locals. No tourist hassles, just friendly residents.
Not normally 4 star hotel clientele, but we were visiting with a small child during the end of the monsoon, so the humidity was severe. The Ramana's pool was a godsend, the aircon essential and our balcony view fantastic (9th floor only). Pay the extra and gasp in wonder at the megapolis below! Great brekky and really delightful staff. Not really a tourist area, so no District 1 hassle, but plenty of interesting lane ways full of life and commerce - don't walk along the main streets, head down the little alleyways and see how the locals live. Taxis are cheap, so getting to D1 not a problem. Really glad we stayed there.

There are better hotels in Ho Chi MinhPosted Jan 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
On arriving at this hotel we found that they had cancelled our reservation and so they left us in the reception for 1/2 hour while they tried to find us alternative rooms. The hotel is shabby, run down and there is smoking allowed so the corridors smell of smoke even though our room didn't. The location is also in no-man lands, it's neither near the airport or near the main area so you are always resigned to taking taxi's anywhere. There are better hotels and better areas to be in for better prices, so I would shop around and avoid this hotel, honestly the worst we stayed in over our entire 3 weeks of travelling in South East Asia.

Needs an upgradePosted Nov 11, 2012
Location: Be careful at night, watch your valuables when walking the streets
The hotel needs to be refurbished, I only had luke warm water the whole time I stayed there. Friendly staff. The area is not the best, with the hotel staff advising me not to go out at night.

Hotel is rated a 4 star but infact is boardering on 3 stars . The whole hotel could do with a face lift as its quite outdated . Not really a good hotel for tourists or if you want to go shopping .

Average hotel for 4 starsPosted Feb 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Stayed for two nights - although a comfortable stay - hotle is dated and has an early 90's feel. Feels more like a 3 star but prices are bit high for the location and over all standard. Restaurant - food at breakfast could be better quality and more or a selection. Not even fresh fruit juice. Service could be better too.. My mam got a pamper package in the spa - she said it was very good - ( but package price included tips - yet at the end they asked to fill in a feed back form - which she done - she ticked the box to say she enjoyed it - or very good - so they said because she ticked that box - she had to tip 15 dollars.. I was furious but she didn't want to make a big deal out if it as the staff probably dont get paid too much - but it put the rest of us, off using the spa.

not good valuePosted Jan 21, 2010
Not a 4 star hotel, plus a lot of noise of 6 am when a group was checking out.
