Top class hotel, fantastic location

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Wireless access all throughout the hotel. I am a computer engineer and no expense has been spared with CISCO (the rolls royce version of networking).
Cons: NIL
Location: Shops, arcades, restaurants, market, War Crimes Museum, not really all that far to walk.
The staff are attentive to your every need and polite. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Great breakfast every morning and such good value for money.

Good Location, Great Service

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Rooftop Bar. Courteous, helpful staff
Cons: Faster internet. A problem all hotels seem to have.
Location: Great location, short easy walks to the most tourist sights.
Got upgraded to a Governors Suite which was great. Excellent buffet breakfast, great rooftop bar. Pool bar was good and the pool was a reasonable size. Excellent friendly & helpful staff. Wifi was pretty good around the hotel and in the room. Easy walk to most things. Can't fault it.

Fantastic Hotel Stay!

We booked 2 rooms at Rex Hotel and it turned out to be a delightful experience. Great location; walking distance to all the major sights and shopping locations. Breakfast was very good, rooms were fantastic and service was immaculate. Two thumbs up!

Great central location

Cons: Air conditioning
I've stayed many times at the Rex and love the overall feel of the place but they really need to sort the air conditioning out in the main areas, especially the room landings.

Brilliant location

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Loved the location and the main lobby area.
Cons: We were not aware that the pool area and rooftop bar were under renovation so that did spoil it as the rooftop bar and our room heard the drilling
Location: Brilliant location ,close to the main historical sites and not too far to the night mkt and river, all walking distance.
The top part of the hotel was under renovation so we did not see it in its full glory. Our room was a little dated and the bathroom was too small and needed modernisation. The noise from the drilling went on all day until 6.30pm. The pool area was really spoilt by the works and was not large enough for those wanting a few hours relaxation. Breakfast was ok but the coffee was awful and it's focus was on Vietnamese taste rather than a international clientele. But we would go back to this hotel as it should be better after the remodelling.

Central hotel close to main tourist attractions

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: Two roof top pools. Nice breakfast
Cons: Complete the building work on the fifth floor as soon as possible
Location: Central near main tourist attractions and river.
The Rex is full of character and history. It appears to have grown in stages so not all parts of the hotel are the same. The two pools on the roof were a real bonus for us as we could escape from the city in the afternoons. With many hotels having internal bars the roof top terrace was a pleasant distraction albeit pricey.
