“Great hotel, would stay again, but dont eat there.”
All the staff, from the reception to the activities centre were attentive to our needs which was a pleasant surprise given that generally speaking customer service/hospitality has a long way to go to meet event the most basic of expectations of travellers and entice repeat business from tourists.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was comfortable for a party of four. The beds were firm but afforded a comfortable sleep. Normally l would not comment on beds, however the beds in this part of asia have proven to be extremely hard, impacting on the ability to achieve a good nights sleep. Very little noise from adjoining residence and the street were experienced during our stay, with good security provided to those residing at Sherwood.
The recreational activities were exceptional. A gym provided all the basic equipment you would need for a standard type workout and discussions with the 'sports' attendant indicated that it had little used with the exception of the treadmill. The pool was nice but due to overshadowing exposure to the sun was limited, as were the sunbeds. So if you are expecting to lounge around the pool, sunning yourself, this is not really the pool for you.
The only negative of our staff was the food at the restaurant. We decided to eat in for dinner one night. Unfortunately the food was ordinary at best, with some members of our party getting sick that night.
Overall l would stay at this place again, but would not eat there.
