“Ideal Hotel for Ho Chi Minh City visit.”

On my booking I asked for a room overlooking the courtyard at the back of the hotel, as it is very noisy at the front of the hotel. I didn't have to ask again when we arrived as they already had a room there for us. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had considerable choice. Staff were very helpful and the men that manned the door always assisted us to cross the road, which in Ho Chi Minh is a god-send. The hotel was very central to get everywhere and most places you could walk to, if you don't mind a 10-20 minute walk, which for a city is very good. However, if you get a taxi check the price before you get it. I would recommend this hotel for a 4-5 day stay in Ho Chi Minh.

“A Wonderful Experience”

What a great way to start off my visit to Vietnam! The ultra-friendly staff took care of every single need of mine. They made me feel really welcome and helped me get a taxi driver to take me around the city at a reasonable rate. The breakfast buffet was really delicious. The room was comfortable and the tv had a nice selection of international channels. From now on Vien Dong is my home away from home in Vietnam. A

“Very comfortable”

This hotel had everything up to standard and made our stay in Saigon very comfortable. Big buffet breakfast every morning and the rooms cleaned and replenished with amenities everyday. Very nice staying there.

“5 Star Service with a 3 star price”

We arrived around 1 in the morning and check in was fast. Very efficient service. Requested extra beddings and pillows, arrived with in 5 minutes of request. Near everything worth seeing in HCMC. Guards assisted with crossing the street. Excellent hotel.

“A gem in HCM!”

Our family stayed 4 nights in 2 rooms at the Vien Dong. The hotel is located on Pham Ngu Lao street opposite the "23/9 Park" in District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. Great location - plenty of restaurants and travel agencies nearby (try Sinh Cafe just around the corner for a great range of tours) and the long distance buses to Cambodia leave each night from opposite the hotel. About a 10 minute walk to the huge Ben Thanh market. Hotel is new and facilities are excellent. Great breakfast. Only negative is that many rooms do not have external windows and instead face into a large internal atrium. Deluxe rooms seem to have an external balcony but face onto the very busy Pham Ngu Lao street - probably a lot noisier than those facing the internal atrium. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Location, rooms, staff, breakfast, atmosphere - all GREAT!

This was a great place and a really great value. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, For the price the room was very comfortable and was spotless. The staff was very friendly with the exception of a couple of the ladies at the front desk. I would recommend this hotel, and will stay there next time I return.

Why pay more elsewhere? SOLIDLY good hotel in every aspect! Location. Comfort. Cleanliness. Service. Stop your searching. Stay here. I am well traveled and know the time and concern spent looking for the best hotel. This is the place. This place will NOT disappoint! The staff is great, especially the lobby attendants and bellmen. There isn't a single problem they can't solve, eagerly! The rooms are absolutely clean and well kept. Beds are firm. Good TV. Great cheap laundry. Very good AC, which quickly cools room. Quiet.....as long as you stay in the back, OPPOSITE the busy street outside. Breakfast is PERFECT, buffet-style with good selection and GREAT omelettes. Sweet juices. Choice location! If in reasonable health-YOU CAN WALK EVERYWHERE, every site, market and downtown, District 1 area. Really! The park outside is so perfect to walk through, coming and going to every District 1 location. People-watching is superb here! Ben Thanh is at the far end of park, 9 minute walk. BEST value for the buck! The weaknesses are few and minor, but here they are: 2nd floor massage parlor is poor, compared to those elsewhere and nearby. A little icky too. Overpriced. The front desk staff's English is very weak. The bellmen's English is better! Get help with interpretation, if needed. Frig has JUST a few drinks only-but it is cheap and easy to buy on street and place in frig. Rooms on busy main street in front, ARE NOISEY! I'd return in a heartbeat!
