Quiet location

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: The horses, chooks!
Cons: Sound insulate the rooms.
Room was noisy with the noise from guests in other rooms and plumbing. We were moved to another room then there was a lot of noise from the phone ringing in Reception! Wine selection at restaurant was limited.

Old and run down

Posted Sep 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The quality of accommodation goes no where near the price charged. Bedding, room facilities and lighting were in need of repair.

Cosy getaway

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: It's old style feel
Cons: Menus
Location: you can drive into Richmond where there are little cafes etc and also the Old Richmond Gaol. we had lunch at the Richmond Arms a lovely pub
Very quaint little place, unfortunately in the middle of renovations in the dining area but overall we still enjoyed our stay

Rustic and neglected

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Cottage is well planned with lots of space, bonus having a washing machine, bathtub(even tho it wasn't working full kitchen and good country views
Cons: Decor, and gardening, improve first impressions
Location: Country location, 24k to Hobart. Lots to see and do in that area if you into history and spending a fortune at cafes
Very disappointed 1 Jet Bath not going 2 No electric blanket on my bed 3 Bed was not inviting, blankets and sheets really old 4 TV in and out of reception 5 No curtain on french doors, could see into lounge area 6 Whole cottage in need of cosmetic update Arrived late autumn and it was quite cold and wintry, maybe that was why the outside looked messy, gardens etc The cottage is actually a good setup and would be very beautiful in the summer and spring, but they seriously need to update premises to make it more inviting for those colder winter months

Good access to Hobart City and Airport

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Location was good and pleasant. Interesting building.
Cons: Slightly "run-down" feel to the place.
Location: The town of Richmond is an interesting place to visit. The location of the hotel is ideal for access to the Airport, and Hobart City is an easy drive
Friendly and helpful staff. An interesting place to stay with plenty of character. Good to have a restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was OK.

Airport Twenty Minutes

We enjoyed the two bedroom cottage out of town but close to Richmond for a nice lunch and a bit of shopping and only twent;y minutes to the airport for a very early departure.

Well placed close to Hobart and airport.

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Location and setting. Very quiet
Cons: Food in restaurant very uninspired. Continental breakfast lamentable, dreary cereal selection, no yoghurt or fruit.
Location: Too far to walk into Richmond very comfortably in hot weather. Good for Tasmin Peninsular, Hobart and the vineyards and the airport.
Well located for visiting south of Island, and airport.

A lovely country spot ~ quiet and relaxing

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The area and the quietness
Cons: Cleaning, gardening, presentation, flowers in reception, lamps on bedside tables, shear sheep, groom horses, put washing machine in laundry! Tidy up!
Location: Location perfect for a quiet relaxing area, lovely views, lovely drives and walks in area. Walk into Richmond.
We, three women, were very disappointed with Hatchers Richmond Manor. On entering the property it was obvious that the grounds were not a priority and presentation was also NIL with the reception area. The grounds were overgrown, apricot orchard was overgrown, paths dirty (not swept), gardens not tidy (needed weeding). The unit we were in for seven days, was not cleaned properly (we purchased cleaner and cleaned the bathroom ourselves). The washing machine was at the end of our unit, outside, standing on cement. Daily washing was done by the cleaners ~ the noise was dreadful. Where's the Laundry??? This whole area is filthy! The animals were well fed, but needed care. Horses had not been groomed, sheep still had 4"++ wool and none had been shorn (also need crutching badly!) With a good clean-up, hoses put away tidy, rubbish removed, some lamps on bedside tables, paths cleaned, flowers put into rooms and lights on in Reception ~ this would have been a beautiful place to stay ~ Richmond is just beautiful ~ The owners are too busy going overseas seeing to other software business so the Manor is not a priority.
