Good location, great roomPosted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: The room was great. Very spacious and new. It was great having a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and the bathroom/laundry was excellent.
Location: Go to MONA - it's terrific - but leave yourself the whole day. The best way to go is on the ferry but it's not worth paying extra for the Posh Pit.
My wife and I stayed for two nights in the new section. I remember reading some reviews about the hotel being noisy but this was not our experience at all. Perhaps this is a problem with the other section of the hotel which has been built into the old woolstore but I can't say. The room was excellent and staff were helpful. There were also nice touches like good toiletries and free laundry detergent. We had a nice outlook from our room looking north and it was nice having a small balcony so that you could open the sliding door if you wanted fresh air.

Central locationPosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Location, helpful staff, room layout
Cons: Bathrooms in studios could do with a spruce up
Location: Near Salamanca markets and right in Hobart city
This hotel is in a great location, the rooms are thoughfully laid out and the staff are wonderful! I wasn't sure what to think lookin at the photo's but the rooms were well appointed with everything you could need. I stayed in both a 1 bedroom and a studio apartment, the 1 bedroom had a slightly nice bathroom but the studio had much better beds. The bathroom issues were only aesthetic and were really very useable. I was so impressed with the staff however who could not do enough to help me and the elderly relative I was travelling with. We ordered room service a couple of times, the selection was good and everything was of fabulous quality. The location is stellar, short walk down to Salamanca and the main part of town, where there are lots of fabulous restaurants and shops.

Really nice hotel close to everythingPosted Oct 29, 2013
Cons: It fulfilled all our needs.
Location: It is centrally located to the CBD in Hobart and walking distance to everything. Salamanca markets on Saturday morning are worth a visit.
I had booked a twin room and was expecting single twin beds. We had a queen and a king size bed and the room still looked spacious. There were a couple of easy chairs to sit in and also a small work table and chair. In the bathroom there was a lovely deep bath and a big shower.Everything was very clean and new. The staff were super friendly and made time to find out about you and talk to you. The location was excellent and within walking distance to Salamanca and the city shops. It was also easy to get to from the airport. Overall a fabulous experience and my 88 year old mother in law wants to go back there...actually she wants to live there!

Fastest Lift in HobartPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Good Location, Clean, Spacious, fastest lift in Hobart. Everything you want in a hotel.
Cons: The toast at breakfast didn't need to be that chewy, but that nit picking.
It was a comfy stay. All that you could want in a hotel. Nothing out of the ordinary, good location, you can walk everywhere, but then again it is Hobart. Oh and the lift is especially quick. There is nothing more I can really say. How much do I have to write for this? it was a good hotel. Can I please stop writing now? Seriously there is a word count on the hotel review? How many characters do I need for good hotel, nothing to complain about. I slept, I had a shower, I wore inappropriate shows. It was a good holiday. Can I stop now?

Disappointing for the pricePosted Sep 28, 2013
Within half an hour of arriving we had to be moved from our room looking onto the carpark as the electrical equipment being used in the room next door for 'carpet laying ' was deafening and would continue for several hours - and we needed to nap having been up at 3am for an early flight. We were moved to a room on the 9th floor which had better views so we didnt feel as claustrophobic as we did in the dreary room downstairs. But the bed was so uncomfortable and uneven that my head was lower than the rest of my body resulting in 3 nights of little sleep. As we'd unpacked for the second time we felt moving again would just add to our discomfort so we put up with it. The rooms are clean but tired and it felt more like a motel than hotel experience. It is in a good position if you want to spend time on Hobart's waterfront.
