Location was the best part.

Pros: Location
Hotel needed some TLC. Carpets worn, bathrooms 3 star, musty smell, beds hard, bedrooms small.

Good location

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Pretty hard to sound proof the rooms so understand that.
Location: Right on the Pier. Short walk from all Fish & Chip outlets. Short walk from town centre and Salamanca restaurants & markets.
Location good. Room older than I expected especially for the price for the weeks stay. Walls so very thin. I could hear everything from next door room. Screaming kids each night didn't help this issue. Glad they only stayed 3 nights. Good to have a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom.

Fabulous to be actually on a pier

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Professional, friendly staff. Unique location. Wonderful views. Well equipped room.
Cons: N/A because everything was exceptional - please congratulate your staff for the fantastic customer service - front and back of house staff!!
Location: MONA. Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery - which was also fantastic and we will recommend to all friends. Maritime museum.
We would most definately stay at Somerset on the Pier Hobart again because the staff were lovely, the location was exquisite and the room was wonderful. We loved being surrounded by water and thought it was quite unique to be staying on a pier...it brought out the relaxed holiday feeling as soon as we arrived at the door. The staff were exceptional...they were so friendly and welcoming. Our brief excursion was made all the more interesting because of our stay at the Somerset on the Pier Hobart.

Beautiful room but Little bit noisy

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Location, Staff, Rooms, View
Cons: Internal SoundProofing
We stayed in a Premium room which had a beautiful view over the harbour and a nice private balcony. The room was beautiful, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel is amazing with a very short walk to plenty of great restaurants, bars, Salamanca Place and the Mona ferry. The restaurant downstairs also does fantastic breakfast and very reasonable room service. Fish Frenzy is also downstairs which has amazing seafood. The room was on top of a bar/restaurant and we thought we would get noise but couldn't hear a thing, even on a Sat night...From the bar. Unfortunately soundproofing between rooms is not good and you can hear noises of other guests almost as though they are in your room. Also the internal plumbing is really noisy so we were woken up as soon as neighbouring guests had their morning shower. Overall would still probably stay here again but was just a little disappointed in not being able to get a proper lie in.

Excellent stay

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Great views and facilities with plenty of space. The bedroom is a loft, so not suited for those who cannot manage stairs. The location was outstanding; within walking distance of key Hobart attractions and restaurants. I would strongly recommend this location for couples or a small family.

Awesome location in the heart of the city.

I was expecting a pier room. What I wasn't expecting was the awesome location in the centre if the city. Salamanca on one side. Sullivans Cove on the other. Hobart city with Mt Wellington covered in snow as a backdrop.

Lovely Harbour Views

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Very convenient harbour location close to Salamanca, Mona Rova, historic wharves. Great restaurants nearby. Will stay here again, but would avoid high tourist season. Facilities are great but v poor soundproofing between rooms. (Sounded as though people were walking around in our apartment at night - sound travelled through walls.) Otherwise great base to explore Hobart. We had a lovely stay.

Thanks Somerset our stay was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The apartment was more than adequate well appointed, although the upstairs bathroom could do with an upgrade. The location was superb and the view was magic.
