Sandy Bay CLUB - Not Wrest Point Casino

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: Customer service and a complete refurbishment
Location: The location is ok
The casino should be renamed Sandy Bay Club. The rooms need refurbishment, the decor was like a time warp. We stayed in 1 room and the bed was so bad I asked for something to put on top of the mattress or to move. The staff member (very friendly room staff) was advised by the room services manager to place a dooner over the mattress to see if that would help. So after 2 nights of no sleep, we were moved to another room with a newer mattress. The restaurants were over priced for the quality of food presented.

Will come back again!

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Every little and big aspects of it.
Location: Location is awesome. Spectacular mountain and water views. Food is excellent. Don't have to leave the hotel as it offers places to dine in.
Had a very warm reception. Staff are superbly friendly. Though a few minutes away from the city, the view is worth it. Close to local shops.

Nice hotel, needs updating.

Pros: The views are unsurpassed.
Cons: The decor.
Location: Salamanca markets, MONA is incredible. Machine Wash Cafe for breakfast. A day in Port Arthur was spectacular and really explained the history.
Very old hotel but neat, tidy and clean. Lovely views. Lots of older people and if you're not into gambling it might be better to stay elsewhere with better facilities.

Wrest Point

Posted Oct 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Had a great stay at Wrest Point. Very central. In fact, stayed here 3 times on our Tasmanian jaunt. Fantastic water views from the rooms. Staff very friendly. Price reasonable. Did OK in the casino. Walking distance to Hobart city, wharf precinct and Salamanca (if you enjoy a walk). Will definitely come back here.
