Short Stay

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: The cookies at check in.
Cons: Temperature of the rooms by the pool are way to humid. Not sure what you could do about that.
My stay at this hotel was brief. I only stayed one night. However, in the dead of winter the room was extremely humid. My room was overlooking the indoor pool, which I'm sure affected the room temperature. I blasted the A/C to sleep at night, so not a big deal. Was a little odd to crank the A/C when the outside temperature was 15 degrees at night.

Nice staff but isolated

Thinnest bath tissue on earth, pool antics and squeals of joy may wake you up.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Our guests - especially our youngest travelers - really enjoy our pool area! We keep strict hours of 6am until 11pm, but if you would prefer to not hear noise from the pool during that time, we recommend requesting a room without a balcony. I hope you will visit us again soon!

Not the best

Posted Oct 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
The pool was closed for maintenance. Had we known this when we booked the room, we would have chosen another hotel. My wife and I really enjoy swimming and lounging in the hot tub. The main reason we chose this hotel was because of the walkout rooms on the first floor with direct pool access. with no pool or hot tub, it was just like any other middle grade hotel.breakfast was a buffet $10 a person and the food was warm at best and they constantly ran out of food.

David, thank you so much for your feedback! Our pool was recently closed for a week for painting, a fact that was listed on the website. I apologize for any inconvenience that caused. It has since re-opened and looks beautiful! I hope you have a chance to return and use this space!

Clean friendly hotel with great location..

Posted Oct 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
Came to Holland to see family, and the hotel was perfect for our needs. The pool was being worked on, however we didn't have time for that. Next visit it will be up running and we'll utilize the pool fun. Rooms were clean, and maid service was great. The restaurant breakfast buffet was good. I'd recommend it to others and stay again.

Hotel needs renovation. Good for groups.

Posted Oct 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
this hotel seems to be mostly for groups. Lots of athletes, children, there were two parties the 2nd night we were there. I requested 2 rooms near each other when I made my reservation and I do understand that those requests can't be guaranteed and we did check in late, but the desk clerk acted as if he really could care less what we wanted. they were full-too bad. so my daughter and son-in-law were on the 1st floor at one side of the hotel and my granddaughter and I were on the 4th floor poolside. they couldn't have put us farther apart. Do they even try to honor requests? I must say that the beds were nice and the linens in the bed and bath were nice and clean. But the hotel is old and worn out and the carpets didn't seem clean. I would stay there again if there were no other rooms available in town, but it would be my last choice of the nicer hotels in Holland.

okay, but not on par with other Doubletree

Posted Sep 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our room had a strong smell of swimming pool water, the bath room had a tiny counter top which was inconvenient, we could hear our neighbors speaking all the time including at 7 AM when we where trying to sleep. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located 5 mins from downtown by car but Holland is such a small city that every hotel has to be in the same range. Service was good in general.

The suite that wasn't

Posted Sep 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
Upgraded to suite. Their idea of suite is big empty room. No couch. No table. Just a big empty room with a nice view of parking lot.

Michael, thank you so much for your response! The Junior Suite is the largest room at the DoubleTree Holland, and guests often appreciate the additional counter space and the additional refrigerator as well. I apologize if you were given misinformation about what this room contained. You can always view photos and descriptions of the rooms online prior to booking. Thank you so much for staying with us!
