"Amazing location, great staff"
From restaurant recommendations and conversations with the friendly staff, to a glorious wine-tasting event, great breakfast, and beautiful, restful room, our entire experience here was outstanding. It was also easy walking distance down quiet side-streets to several underground stations, many restaurants, and the very center of Vienna's museum districts.
I cannot compliment the staff highly enough. They were friendly and energetic, and everyone seems to pitch in to do any requested task, from the front desk to the wine bar. They helped me find an excellent tea for my sore throat a couple of days. We stayed on the "wine-makers package," which included a large dinner's worth of appetizers and a curated wine-tasting from their winery-of-the-month. The staff person who gave the tasting was full of great information and gave us a real education in Vienna-area red wines that were new to us.
The building itself is older, in keeping with the neighborhood, but it is very well maintained. (This might cause challenges for anyone needing physical accommodations, however. I would call ahead, if that is an issue for you.) The room was outstanding in character and comfort.
If there was a downside, it was the smoking in outdoor areas even when they are within or near dining space. That included the beautiful little garden courtyard. One smoker could pollute the whole adjoining, indoor bar. This seems to be common in Vienna, sadly, so it was no worse than other places, even fine dining
