Beach Hotel hotels in Holualoa, Hawaii

Recommended: We enjoyed the Royal Kona very much. The help was all very pleasant. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed happy hour twice and it was yummy. The location of the Royal Kona was great because we were able to walk to other sites, beaches, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. We used our rental car to and from the airport and for a day trip to the volcanos. The private lagoon was nice because you just can't swim anywhere due to the hard lava rock coast. . Not recommended: I stayed in several hotels on several Hawaiian islands...this was my least favorite of them all. We stayed in room 324, it is owned privately and rented out by the hotel. You dont get hotel services or room cleaning during your stay, unless you pay extra. No air conditioning. Plumbing issues caused a horrible high pitched whining noise. Roaches of every variety are all over this place. We even had roaches in our lugauge when we got home to NY. The lobby closes early and is gated. Recommended: We stayed in an ocean front room and were very satisfied. Just a small strip of grass separated us from the ocean. An un-crowded beach is located next door. Located within walking distance of downtown Kailua for dining and shopping. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Very nice pool, spa, and barbecue area. We’ve been lucky enough to visit Hawaii several times and this stay was one of the best. See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: The condo was large, clean, and comfortable. All the necessities were there. The view of the Pacific with the Kona sunsets was breathtaking. Although the beach was not swimmable, it was enjoyable to watch the surf, dolphins, and sea turtles frolic. See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: The hotel is still under renovations, however what is done looks great! we were there during Halloween and there was a lot going on. The hotel needs better security. There were people having parties and it was very noisey. You can't beat the location though and for that alone i'll be back. See all reviews for this hotel
