Quick overnight stayPosted Mar 18, 2015
Breakfast was definitely a plus. The hotel location and cleanliness were both great. The rooms were a bit small though.

Bad Experience at Hampton Inn on 280 in BirminghamPosted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: There needs to ALWAYS be a maintenance person on the premises and there ALWAYS needs to be more than one person working at the front desk.
Location: I had a heart procedure the next morning at Brookwood. We stayed there for convenience not knowing that this stay would be more of an inconveience
I had booked my stay through Expedia.com with no problems. However, upon arrival at the hotel, there was only one person (a lady) working the ENTIRE hotel. We asked for extra pillows and 3 hours later, she finally showed up to bring them - this was only after my husband raised his voice that it was unacceptable. She said that she was the only person working and had been checking in 40 guests that had come in on a tour bus. When we had stayed at this hotel before, we were able to get a box fan since my husband snores a lot at night. On this stay, we were told that maintenance would bring a fan to our room. When the front desk lady arrived with the pillows 3 hours later, she told us that she could not get in touch with a maintenance person and she had no idea where the fans were kept. Needless to say, I did not sleep a wink the entire night. We had booked a room with a queen bed. The bed that was in our room was more like a double bed. There was barely room for me and my husband on it. When we complained that the bed seemed very small, the lady was very flustered and said that the hotel has "small queen beds" now. I'm not even sure what that means. The air conditioning in the room was another issue. It was quite hot in the room and the thermastat did not work right. Calling down to the front desk got us no where as the lady was the only person on the hotel premises and, as she had already told us, could not get in touch with a maintenance person.

this was a great location, which helped greatly; however the comfort level of our bed and mattress were very disappointing. we did not expect this at all

I requested a feather-free room, and they gave me a regular one and told me they would come to change it. They never did.

Not your typical Hampton innPosted Feb 16, 2015
Cons: upgrade the facilities to more of what you would expect at other Hampton inn's
Location: great location on highway 280 near samford university. many great places to eat and shop.
the Hampton inn mountain brook is not a bad hotel it is just not what you would expect from a hotel named a Hampton inn. it appears to be a hotel that was run by another company that is now a Hampton. we had no problems but were expecting more than what we got for the money since we have stayed at many other Hampton inn's in the past and have become accustomed to a certain level of quality that they offer.

Nice HotelPosted Jan 12, 2015
Cons: enlarge exercise room and provide more machines.
Location: Mt. Brook village is quaint with lovely shops.
No problems with stay except that Expedia had given a bizarre name for my reservation and hotel staff could not find until I provided the hotel reservation code. Staff is pleasant; facilities clean and comfortable. Exercise room small with 3 machines, so could be a problem if demand is high. When I wanted to use, all machines were occupied,

Great respitePosted Dec 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
Exceptional employees. Hotel is in an upscale neighborhood within walking distance to 6 restaurants. Fairly priced clean room. Can't recommend any higher.

Great stay at a good price in the Mountainbrooke areaPosted Dec 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed my stay at this Hampton in law passing through Birmingham to see some friends. The hotel is convenient as long as you are coming from the right side of 280. Beds were comfortable, and accommodations all as nice or nicer than expected. Decent breakfast, good coffee, and a great staff.

Recent stayPosted Dec 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel staff were good, but a couple of things with room were not. The faucet in the bathroom stuck when you turned it off or on completely. My husband had to turn it on or off for me. The remote to the TV was old and falling apart. And we will not stay right on 280 again. It is a very difficult road to navigate with no left turns easily accessible.

great locationPosted Dec 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
So convient to freeways, shopping, restaurants. No left turn out if park lot, but a quick right & ramp to turn you around is easy & quick.
