Not As Advertised

Posted Sep 22, 2014
I made reservations for a room with a double bed. Turns out their definition of a double bed is two single beds pushed together, which is not only ridiculous, but extremely uncomfortable. Seems like false advertising. I will never stay here again.

Very Busy Hotel

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: The staff sincerely wanted to provide a top notch experience. The sinks are designed so that you can wash clothes and there is a clothes line.
Cons: The breakfast problem
Location: If you want to shop, Hong Kong is your place. The lower ends of the Victoria peak Morning Trail is only a few blocks from the hotel.
The Best Western Hotel in Hong Kong is very very busy. Space it tight. The elevators are small, as are the rooms. They appear much bigger in the photos. Consequently it is not unusual during peak times to wait 10 minutes or more for an elevator. There are just too many people trying to move in four tiny elevators. Even if you are lucky enough to get an elevator, the staff use the elevators to move between floors, so it is not unusual to make several stops going up or down. If you are staying in any rooms above 20th floor, it take additional time for all the extra stops. In terms of price, the hotel is a bargain especially if you booked in the US through a web portal. However, if there are any changes that need to be made, staying at the Best Western can get very expensive quickly. You cannot get two people in a shower. I barely fit. Space is tight. It's Hong Kong. The Hotel offers a bargain price for Hong Kong.

Pros: Remodeled lobby.
Location: Easy access to bus and trolley lines which lead directly to heart of the city.
Room looked much bigger on pictures. I was in for a surprise. I couldn't wait to leave that place.

The rooms are small but house keeping is very nice and accommodating. Front office staff leave much to be desired.

Convenience, location ok, staff friendly.

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The staffs was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Save at least one lift to operate for an individual to use especially in the morning.
Location: Almost everything you can buy around the hotel.
Overall experience was pleasant. But if you are in rush between 8:00 to 9:30 in the morning, you have to wait at least 20 to 30 mins to get down to ground floor. Because there were a lot of group tourists going out at the same time. Lifts were kind of small. The staffs was friendly and helpful.

Cramped - no cupboards and no pool!

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Nice view of Hong Kong harbour.
Cons: The water from the shower getting on the toilet side of the room.
There was no where to put your suitcases and no cupboards or chairs. A notice in the room said the pool was 'closed for winter' (in June???). The glitziness of the lobbies and lifts didn't bother me. Some strange stuff on the breakfast buffet, but never went hungry.

Handy location

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Good location off me. In an interesting area and handy to the trams. Shuttle bus also convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the concierge staff. The room was very small, okay for one person. It was also a bit smelly from the drains so bought air freshened. Staff kept room clean. Lifts very slow at peak times so took to walking down. Unfortunately the swimming pool was closed which was very disappointing. Great view though from the roof. My stay was okay but there is a lot of nearby competition where rooms sounded better.
