Great choice for a 1st time visit to HK.

Loved the location close to the mid level escalator and in the midst of local shops and markets. An easy walk from HK station and tram stops. We had a superior corner room on a high floor. Spacious with great aircon and all necessary amenities; also very quite with a decent view. The only negative point was some staining on the carpet which was light. All staff were very friendly and keen to help. Recommended.

Location and friendly modern hotel

Location is great, not too far away from Central Station and walking distance (though you will have lots of up hill walks) to many restaurants and places to visit. Staff was very helpful. Well worth the stay.

Great Asian hotel experience

I was very impressed with the Butterfly on Wellington. The room was smallish by American hotel standards, but remembering that this hotel is in one of the highest population density cities in the world, it was quite comfortable and functional. The quality of the furnishings was high. The room was very clean and well put together. The staff were super helpful in terms of helping with directions to restaurants, arranging taxis, etc. The neighborhood was convenient to restaurants, transportation, etc. I'll likely stay here next time I am in HK, though I would be interested to try their Causeway Bay location.

Superb well located boutique hotel

We were very happy with our stay. The staff was very helpful in suggesting what to do and where to eat. The free internet service was excellent. The hotel is very well located just a block from a major elevated pedestrian walkway that is easy to use to get to major parts of Hong Kong.

Central, well designed, excellent staff

Posted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: Its location and its helpful staff
Cons: Well, not much, except the frosting on the bathroom doors and the way they meet, is insufficient and could perhaps be increased.
Location: Very central! Surrounded by interesting eateries, bars, etc., and steps from a huge assortment of shopping of every kind and public tranportation.
We wanted to be in Central. For your money, in Central, you don't get much space. The room was well-designed with lots of easy-to-access storage space, but it was small. The main drawback of this lack of space was that the bathroom is essentially part of the room, separated only by frosted glass doors which were not sufficiently frosted and did not meet each other well enough to provide the degree of privacy we would find comfortable. We certainly couldn't have invited friends to come and have a drink in our room - too embarrassing if they wanted to "use the facilities"! No other criticisms. The hotel, though not especially glamorous, is well-run, clean and well-located. The staff are outstandingly helpful, efficient and obliging. We had a good stay despite the lack of privacy for bathroom functions!
