Grand Hyatt is still Grand - under Construction!Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: Staff is very professional and courteous. No "stuckup" attitude you find in other 5* hotels.
Cons: Renovations are happening and will disturb you if you are trying to sleep in. Starts at about 9am.
Location: Star Ferry is the best way to get to TST and is only about a 10 mins walk away. Walk over to Wan Chai and there are many eateries.
1st time staying here but usually stay at the Hyatt Regency (K11) in TST since I had a few meetings on HK Island. The hotel is a bit out of the ways from MTR but it's a nice change. It's about 10 mins from the Star Ferry and about 20 mins from the MTR station (Wan Chai). Taxi is easy and does not cost a lot. The staff and the hotel is great! Very professional and courteous. Nothing to complain about. Had the buffet on the ground floor restaurant and on the terrace. Both were exceptional...really, I am not a big fan of buffet anywhere but this was a 5* buffet. Not cheap though - from $600 to $800 (HKD) per person. Pamper yourself and try it, you won't regret it. The room was large as I asked for a king size bed room. It is North Amercian sized so this is rare for HK. I was on a floor that is still waiting to be renovated but I actually enjoyed the old style decor - i.e. gold faucets, marble floors, etc. Another person I was travelling with had a room on the renovated floor, nice and modern. If you have a chance, get the room with the Harbour view...it's one of the BEST views anywhere in the world. I was lucky as the smog was not that bad during my stay. The services and amenities are expensive but this is the Grand Hyatt, where foreign dignitaries stay all the time. Overall, it is a 5* hotel with everything to back it up.

Business/Pleasure tripPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: That has a very good location, great room (remodeled).
Cons: let guests know that you have old rooms and remodeled rooms, so they know when booking the hotel.
Location: At the convention center, so if you need to be there, this is the place to be. Soho, Central for dining and drinks, just a few minutes away in a taxi.
This is a good place to stay, even better if going to an event at the convention center, it's right there, so if you are tired, you are just a couple of minutes away from your room. good hotel staff, request a remodeled room, those are the best, if you stay all day at the hotel, you might hear the people working on some rooms.

Great grand Hyatt Hong KongPosted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Staying in the club area
Location: Very well located close to WanchaiHong MRT and buses on the Island.
We stayed in the Club area and the stay was excellent. All the staff were friendly, helpful and the food and wines at "happy hour" were well chosen. We look forward to returning in the future.

Hotel ReviewPosted Jul 3, 2013
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Price of food and drink in the hotel
Location: Great location
I think the hotel was a great hotel I went their with my wife on a holiday and it was a great place to relax after a day spent sight seeing and shopping. First time spent time in a five start hotel on holiday and would do it again. We usually eat out as food and drinks were quite pricey compared to the local restaurants

Nice viewPosted Jun 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is right next to the convetion centre. This was the main reason why I chose to stay there. There were virtually no shops or resataurants within 5 mins walk. It is about 5-10 mins walk to the MTR station, and with the humidity and heat, it is probably not the best hotel to stay in from that perspective. We stayed in a mock up room (they are undergoing renovation, which should be completed in 2014). We were accompanied from the reception all the way to the room by the staff. The room was nice (and of course very clean) though on the small side. There was even a Nespresso. With half of the harbour view and most of Central, it was extremely nice.

grand in its day....Posted Mar 25, 2013
This Hotel was truley a 5 star "back in the day". its in need of head to toe reno if it is to keep the title 5 star in Hong Kong. I rated overall a "ok" that's because I am rating it against other HK or big asian city 5 star. The best part of the hotel is the steak house ( which may or may not be controlled and owned by the hotel, all i can say its supurb. The cafe on main floor is also outstanding. The worst part of the hotel is the out dated bathroom, shower, decor, beds, and general layouts of the rooms. Hallways are tired and so are elevators.
