Nice Hotel with Magnificent harbor viewPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Harbor view
Cons: The room needs to be reneovated since it is dated.
Location: Starbucks and 7 eleven are closed by.
We booked this hotel for our vacation during the Chinese new year. I was with my family visiting Hong Kong to enjoy sightseeing and shopping. The room was big considering Hong Kong standards. Hotel staff were supported especially the concierge. They helped me to reserve for restaurants and cheacked sightseeing directions. The room service was extremely good, and tidy up the room twice a day. The harbor view room worth the addition in price. On the other side, the hotel is not close to MTR station since it needs 10 to 15 minutes walk. Though, it is perfect option for business since it is closed to convention center. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Impressive hotel overlooking Victoria HarbourPosted Jan 5, 2014
Pros: Brilliant location & Extremely warm & professional staff
Cons: Facilities in the room were prettty basic for the room price.
Location: Ferry ride to Tsim Shai Tsui with phenomenal photo-ops of HK & Kowloon skyline, Ferry to Macau & loads of shopping & dining opportunities everywhere.
With breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour from Harbour View rooms, situated a brief ferry ride away from the shopping & museums of Tsim Shai Tsui (Kowloon) & close to Exhibition Centre & other amenities it is a glamorously comfortable place to stay. Has a great variety of dining options & the ambience is very aesthetic & pleasing to the eyes. The staff were extremely helpful & attentive and the rooms luxurious. However the room during the brief stay needed maintenance twice for minor yet inconvenient things & the construction in the neighbourhood was a minor irritant due to the noise quotient.

Grand Hyatt is still Grand - under Construction!Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: Staff is very professional and courteous. No "stuckup" attitude you find in other 5* hotels.
Cons: Renovations are happening and will disturb you if you are trying to sleep in. Starts at about 9am.
Location: Star Ferry is the best way to get to TST and is only about a 10 mins walk away. Walk over to Wan Chai and there are many eateries.
1st time staying here but usually stay at the Hyatt Regency (K11) in TST since I had a few meetings on HK Island. The hotel is a bit out of the ways from MTR but it's a nice change. It's about 10 mins from the Star Ferry and about 20 mins from the MTR station (Wan Chai). Taxi is easy and does not cost a lot. The staff and the hotel is great! Very professional and courteous. Nothing to complain about. Had the buffet on the ground floor restaurant and on the terrace. Both were exceptional...really, I am not a big fan of buffet anywhere but this was a 5* buffet. Not cheap though - from $600 to $800 (HKD) per person. Pamper yourself and try it, you won't regret it. The room was large as I asked for a king size bed room. It is North Amercian sized so this is rare for HK. I was on a floor that is still waiting to be renovated but I actually enjoyed the old style decor - i.e. gold faucets, marble floors, etc. Another person I was travelling with had a room on the renovated floor, nice and modern. If you have a chance, get the room with the Harbour view...it's one of the BEST views anywhere in the world. I was lucky as the smog was not that bad during my stay. The services and amenities are expensive but this is the Grand Hyatt, where foreign dignitaries stay all the time. Overall, it is a 5* hotel with everything to back it up.

Business/Pleasure tripPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: That has a very good location, great room (remodeled).
Cons: let guests know that you have old rooms and remodeled rooms, so they know when booking the hotel.
Location: At the convention center, so if you need to be there, this is the place to be. Soho, Central for dining and drinks, just a few minutes away in a taxi.
This is a good place to stay, even better if going to an event at the convention center, it's right there, so if you are tired, you are just a couple of minutes away from your room. good hotel staff, request a remodeled room, those are the best, if you stay all day at the hotel, you might hear the people working on some rooms.

I was place in a Japanese style room, not what you expect from a Grand Hyatt, room was okay, but definitely not a Grand Hyatt. I only stayed for two nights but if stayed longer will prepare regular rooms. Hong Kong Grand Hyatt is located next to the convention centre, great for convention attendee, but for people on vacation or business, one will need to know the connecting route to Wanchai, around a 10-15 mins work.
