Good location

Wonderful staff doing their utmost at all times to provide service. The hotel shows its age and the interiors tired and run down. Uncomfortable beds. Dysfunctional and poor lighting system. Restaurants very good and first class choice mended. Service slow. Hotel suffers from vicinity to conference centre being overrun by short term day trippers becoming a bit like a bus station. Spa staff very friendly but lack experience in massage skills. Taxi waiting time very long but understandable because of long central demo shutdown

A very well furnished hotel and close to many sites (Star ferry, Central and Admiralty). Good recently refurbished rooms with great view of the harbor

Comfortable Expo-friendly and five star

Location: Convention centre at the door step, lots of bars, eating places, shopping close by, ferry terminal (the best way to cross the bay) a 5 minute walk.
Grand Hyatt's are generally nice places to stay in any country and this one didn't disappoint. The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive. I was upgraded to a room with a better view (being a panoramic view from the island towards TST across the harbour, very nice indeed) upon check-in. The hotel is being upgraded at the time of this writing so there were a few things closed for renovation but that was a minor inconvenience given the good range of choices within.The hotel is quite literally atop the convention centre so accessing that was very easy (my primary reason for being in Hong Kong) and the location is an easy 5 minute walk to the ferry station, well serviced by taxis and a short walk to the older streets of Wan Chai or a 5 minute taxi trip to Causeway Bay's shopping areas.

Luxurious hotel near multiple destinations

Pros: The amenities, warm staff, and comfortable bedding.
Location: Wan Chai district is a few blocks away where you can find some nice pubs and restaurants. A Starbucks is close to hotel.
My wife and I enjoyed the warm reception as soon as we drove up to the hotel entrance. Our plane arrived very early, so we were able to enjoy a full buffet breakfast prior to check-in time. The staff delivered our luggage immediately to the room and offered immediate suggestions on how to commute to Kowloon sans the traffic. The exercise room was topnotch, pool area immaculate and the Waterfall Bar was perfect for evening nightcaps. The bedding was extremely comfortable, shower was equipped with the "rain-head" which extended my time in their by twenty minutes. There are speakers in the bathroom to enjoy some jazz while dressing. Daily newspaper is delivered and bottles of water are plentiful which added a nice touch.

Upgrade to a Harbour View room for best view.

Cons: Housekeeping need to be improved immediately.
Location: Currently some construction outside hotel and internal renovation in hotel. However nothing that cause great distruption or discomfort.
Overall it was an ok experience. The room we had book through Expedia didn't offer us a Harbour View. We had to pay additional to upgrade to get a view. Housekeeping was patchy on some days. Surprising for a 5 star hotel. There was one day when our room was completely unmade until we returned in the evening and had to call down to reception to have someone come up. They did apologize with a box of cookies but really the 8th ball has been dropped. The next few days, we also had days when the room was cleaned only very late in the day. The upgraded room was spacious for 2 persons, with a nespresso coffee making machine (comp), tea and bottled water.

Beautiful Hotel in HK Island

The Grand Hyatt is a superb hotel located in Wan Chai on the Hong Kong Island side of HK. The hotel is currently doing renovations and I was lucky enough to have one of the recently renovated rooms. There is a little noise with the construction, however I didn't find it too bothersome. The lobby is beautiful and classic Grand Hyatt, if you look down to the lobby from the 1st floor, the staircases and design points resemble a giant crab. The hallway design in the newly renovated area is also Chinese influenced, however this gives way to typical Grand Hyatt style once you open your door. The rooms are perfectly designed, modern and luxurious The only minor faults of the room are the TV is an older model, and the bathrobe hook is in a dangerous position between the shower and toilet - be careful. Toiletries are June Jacobs. The staff are professional, friendly and courteous - I really could't ask for more. The food quality for room service is excellent. The location is good and it's a 5-10 minute taxi ride to Pacific Place and IFC. I really enjoyed my stay and the Grand Hyatt is now my new 'go to' for Hong Kong. Bravo!!

Best belated birthday present

My sister and I were given the trip to Taipei and Hong Kong as a belated birthday present from our parents. My sister is the art geek and loved the deco and different art stuff. We both enjoyed the room and service. Everyone was very friendly and professional. They did warn us about the noise from construction, but we spent most of our day and about, so that didn't bother us at all. The concierges were always very helpful, especially helping us decide where we want to go to eat and drink. Overall, this was a really great experience and when we do come back to visit, we will return to the grand hyatt for our stay.

Incredible harbour and city view!

Pros: Staff are courteous and very welling to assist in anyway to make our stay comfortable, and they are extremely attentive. Comfortable big room.
Location: Not much one can walk to around the hotel - the whole purpose of it being tucked away from the crowd. ~ 15 minutes by taxi to Causeway Bay, Soho etc.
Nicely tuck away from the crowd, and it is easy to get to via all mode of transportation. Staff are excellent, and the breakfast buffet is great! Pool has a few life guards on duty when it is open, hence, it is wonderful for children to swim and play. Magnificent view of the harbor and the city. Our 11 year old twins and I absolutely enjoyed our 5 days stay there! We will definitely go back.

The Grand Club is worth the extra cost
