Luxurious hotel near multiple destinations

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: The amenities, warm staff, and comfortable bedding.
Location: Wan Chai district is a few blocks away where you can find some nice pubs and restaurants. A Starbucks is close to hotel.
My wife and I enjoyed the warm reception as soon as we drove up to the hotel entrance. Our plane arrived very early, so we were able to enjoy a full buffet breakfast prior to check-in time. The staff delivered our luggage immediately to the room and offered immediate suggestions on how to commute to Kowloon sans the traffic. The exercise room was topnotch, pool area immaculate and the Waterfall Bar was perfect for evening nightcaps. The bedding was extremely comfortable, shower was equipped with the "rain-head" which extended my time in their by twenty minutes. There are speakers in the bathroom to enjoy some jazz while dressing. Daily newspaper is delivered and bottles of water are plentiful which added a nice touch.

Upgrade to a Harbour View room for best view.

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Cons: Housekeeping need to be improved immediately.
Location: Currently some construction outside hotel and internal renovation in hotel. However nothing that cause great distruption or discomfort.
Overall it was an ok experience. The room we had book through Expedia didn't offer us a Harbour View. We had to pay additional to upgrade to get a view. Housekeeping was patchy on some days. Surprising for a 5 star hotel. There was one day when our room was completely unmade until we returned in the evening and had to call down to reception to have someone come up. They did apologize with a box of cookies but really the 8th ball has been dropped. The next few days, we also had days when the room was cleaned only very late in the day. The upgraded room was spacious for 2 persons, with a nespresso coffee making machine (comp), tea and bottled water.

Beautiful Hotel in HK Island

Posted Aug 22, 2014
The Grand Hyatt is a superb hotel located in Wan Chai on the Hong Kong Island side of HK. The hotel is currently doing renovations and I was lucky enough to have one of the recently renovated rooms. There is a little noise with the construction, however I didn't find it too bothersome. The lobby is beautiful and classic Grand Hyatt, if you look down to the lobby from the 1st floor, the staircases and design points resemble a giant crab. The hallway design in the newly renovated area is also Chinese influenced, however this gives way to typical Grand Hyatt style once you open your door. The rooms are perfectly designed, modern and luxurious The only minor faults of the room are the TV is an older model, and the bathrobe hook is in a dangerous position between the shower and toilet - be careful. Toiletries are June Jacobs. The staff are professional, friendly and courteous - I really could't ask for more. The food quality for room service is excellent. The location is good and it's a 5-10 minute taxi ride to Pacific Place and IFC. I really enjoyed my stay and the Grand Hyatt is now my new 'go to' for Hong Kong. Bravo!!

Incredible harbour and city view!

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Staff are courteous and very welling to assist in anyway to make our stay comfortable, and they are extremely attentive. Comfortable big room.
Location: Not much one can walk to around the hotel - the whole purpose of it being tucked away from the crowd. ~ 15 minutes by taxi to Causeway Bay, Soho etc.
Nicely tuck away from the crowd, and it is easy to get to via all mode of transportation. Staff are excellent, and the breakfast buffet is great! Pool has a few life guards on duty when it is open, hence, it is wonderful for children to swim and play. Magnificent view of the harbor and the city. Our 11 year old twins and I absolutely enjoyed our 5 days stay there! We will definitely go back.

Nice but....

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: nice room, staff
Cons: training and knowledge of hotel
I would have rated all excellent except for 2 things, we were jetlag and hungry after 21 hours flight , was told by trainee that Chinese restaurant was still open at 330pm even I questioned twice , . we went up with excitement found out that it was close during lunch time. during our stay we were in newly renovated room. which is really nice, but water dripping from the ceiling during the rain . housekeeping was really nice about it and have it fix right away with apology letter. but it was inconvenient to us with housekeeping and engineering in our room , while we were trying to sleep because of jetlag.

Room with a view

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: View, location, staff attention. Will seek out this hotel again.
Cons: Carpet transition was frayed, otherwise a really nice hotel.
Location: Short walk to Causeway Bay high end shopping, street market, dozens of coffee shops, dozens of Omega and Rolex shops, sightseeing at the Peak area.
Memorable stay; outstanding view of Victoria Harbour day and night. Walkable to the Peak and Causeway Bay areas. Close to subway station. Professional staff. Excellent steakhouse and outstanding gourmet buffet at the poolside grill. New gym equipment.

Excellent hotel overlooking Victoria Harbour

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: Everything - exudes 5 star ambience in every aspect. I had a harbour room so enjoyed fantastic views of the beautiful Victoria Harbour and HK skyline.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Perfect location, overlooking Victoria Harbour, walking distance to HKCEC, Wan Chai ferry pier, MTR station, eateries and coffee shops.
I had a wonderful experience staying at The Grand Hyatt and enjoyed its proximity to places of interest, MTR station, Ferry pier, eateries and coffee shops which is an immense help, without having to worry about such small but important factors.

Tip Class Hotel

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The Customer service.
Cons: The privacy blind in the bathroom should be made of thicker block-out material.
Location: It is walking distance to the Ferry and just short taxi rides to the MTR and other locations.
The hotel staff were the most helpful and friendly I have experienced in all the times I have stayed in hotels. First rate with help and advice, etc The hotel is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, high standard and quality in service, food and amenities..
