Hotel with Harbour Views

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Large room, harbour views and grand lobby.
Location: Location was convenient, close to airport bus and Fortress Hill MTR station. The walk to the hotel go pass several car repair shops.
We had an upgrade to the Club Floor. Room was spacious with a king size bed and lounge. There was harbour view as the name suggest. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The shower was inside the large round bath tub, need to take care stepping in and out. Staff at front desk was efficient and service was good. Location was convenient with A11 airport bus stop near by. Fortress Hill MTR station was less then 5 minutes walk at end of Oil street. It was easy as the MTR only have 1 exit with 2 sides. Just look for Oil street exit. There was several eating places and shops on the main street, but not very crowded. You can also take the tram down to Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, etc whcih was cheap and allows you to see Hong Kong along the way, but it takes longer then the MTR. The only (minor) down side was the walk to the hotel you need to walk pass several small car workshops which was a bit unpleasant.

Beautiful hotel!

Really pleased with our stay. Hotel itself is beautiful. Close to MTR, great views from lovely room. Only negative was the food and drinks we ordered - ciders were flat and the two "snack" meals we ordered there were poorly made and mediocre quality. Apart from the food and drinks, we loved our stay.

Very nice, but a lot of construction around.

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Good staff and facilities. High quality
Cons: Restaurant food. Surrounding streets messy
Location: Location will be great once all the surrounding development over the nearby harbor is completed. A lot of construction around currently.
A very nice place with good services and staff. The area needs work and cleaning but look like that's happening.

Grand but BLANK

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: The staff is friendly and obliging.
Cons: Unfortunately, it is let down by some outdated WiFi policy. I had to contact the hotel to cancel a pending charge on my credit card.
We spent 5 nights at this hotel after our trip to Japan. This is the first time we stayed at that hotel. We were attracted by the fact that it is one of the few hotels in North Point/Quarry Bay that is served by Airport Express Shuttle buses. We were first impressed by the lobby which is huge and grand BUT unfortunately Bare and COLD. The trouble with the big lobby is the emptiness, which renders it to a huge sound box. We were alarmed by the noise that came from a noisy party when we checked in. Luckily, there was no more noisy problem during our stay. We were informed at check-in that only 2 devices can be used to access the free Wi-Fi. Otherwise, a daily charge of HKD$130 will apply. However, to our surprise, we were told on our second day of stay that each room can have only devices REGISTERED. While we had 2 mobile phones and 1 labtop, we took care that only 2 devices were used at ANY ONETIME. We were told by the check-in staff that we will be charged $130 since we had 3 devices registered. I explained that this is not the way it was explained to me at check-in time. The supervisor in charge, Ernest, was nice enough to promise me that charge will be reversed. I had stayed at many hotels in the world and I must admit this is the first hotel that imposed restriction on the number of devices on free WiFi, especially in view of the fact that it was supplied by 3G, another company in the Li Kingdom.

nice hotel, easy access to MRT

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: near to the public transport facilities.
very good hotel, near to MRT station (Fortress Hill) and have a free shuttle bus from the hotel to Hong Kong Central station for Airport Express Train. The only negative point is the surrounding due to a new facility (?new hotel) under construction. Overall is PLEASING.

While a bit away from the hustle and bustle, hotel is nice and close to fortress hill Subway stop. Recommend upgrading to the Harbour Club as it is well worth the extra dollars for the perks that come along with it. Hotel staff was so kind and attentive and rooms were of modern design and well cleaned. We'd love to come back one day.
