Amazing Harbour View
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: Excellent view of Hong Kong Harbour
Cons: walk from the subway, walked through a more industrial area- car repair and parts shops
Location: above
Rooms are not large but well appointed, the bathroom was smaller but the unique glass wall to the room made it feel larger and the electric curtain provided the privacy you required when needed. We had an amazing view of the harbour and the staff was excellent. The view from the restaurant is something that is worthwhile for guests. Good access to subway

Pros: staff, pool, location

the staff are amazing, the hotel pool is worth it if you are going in the humid months as we did.

Harbour Grand HK
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: The views
Cons: The service
Location: Good, but there are plenty better in HK
We specifically booked a non smoking room and they booked us into a smoking room which reaked of smoke. 25 minutes later we were transferred to a non smoking floor but people had been smoking in the room and there was a strong smell remaining for the 3 days of our stay. On the Saturday night we went to the bar at 6.30, there were 5 people and 5 staff. I ordered a beer and raspberry lemonade, after waiting 20 minutes I got up and walked to the bar and asked how long does it takes to get a beer? They immediately pulled a bottle from the fridge bringing it to the table later followed be the lemonade. They either ignored us or forgot the order. We intended to eat there and reviewed the menu, there was nothing appealing on it. There were spectacular views from the the bar. The hotel is totally under serviced with elevators. We were on the 36 floor, serviced by 3 elevators covering from 19 to I think the 38 floor plus the bar at the top 50? And of course from the common floors 7,1 and ground. Totally inadequate regardless with always a constant wait. Great views of the harbour, close to the MTR station with good basic shopping.

Pros: The building and staff were superb
Cons: Surrounding area a bit scruffy.
Location: Easy and close access to the MTR - the best way to get around HK.
Location of the hotel is not the most salubrious but few hotels in HK are. The hotel staff and the building are superb. Our flight on check out day was 11pm, yet they let us use the room until 7pm. Close to MTR (subway). Views from the hotel are stunning. With my Expedia Elite Plus card we received a double up grade to the Club floor. I can not recommend this hotel too much.

Good hotel away from the main areas of Hong Kong
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Location
Location: Away from the center of Hong Kong, near a MRT station, a lot of building works nearby
Stayed 4 nights in April, room size adequate, room clean but a little dated, found hotel staff to be helpful, restaurants on the expensive side, and lift service slow. gym and pool good for a hotel of its size. Location a little disappointing not as close to the center of Hong Kong as I hoped, MRT station nearby.

RElaxed in Hong Kong
Posted Jan 15, 2013
Pros: The view of the harbour, especially at night...the staff....sense of opulence in the decor.....comfortable bed....EVERYTHING
Cons: Swimming pool could be heated to a higher temperature...just nit-picking!
Location: Surrounds a bit "gritty", but close to supermarket, pastry store, etc for snacks. Close to the MTR and buses.
The Harbour GRand is an elegant, comfortable well-placed hotel . I found the staff friendly and attentive without being obsequious. My view of the Harbour( delux category), was superb. The buffet meals were plentiful and varied. The swimming pool was marvellous, if a lit tle chilly the time I was there. I found my stay to be relaxed, comfortable( the pillows are to die for) and thankfully, very close t o the MTR. I would go back in a second....congratulations on a wonderful hotel with an equally wonderful staff. I cant fault it!

Hong Kong Island Hotel away from touristy HK
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: Staff and Room Choice. Expedia price better than hotel price
Cons: No eating places nearby. Requires a walk to subway.
Location: Hong Kong Island and not the more familiar Kowloon touristy location. Requires short subway ride to visit most venues.
What a grand foyer I saw when I arrived. Impeccably dressed staff and very welcoming. I had a unfortunate experience upon my arrival to Hong Kong and the front desk manager upgraded my room to the Club Floor to show how sorry he was that the taxi driver did not give me the correct change back. My room overlooked the harbor of both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. The restaurant buffet is the normal price for this type of hotel and unfortunately internet is not free anywhere in the hotel; not even in the lobby area. I hope someday, hotels will get rid of these charges. They have a free shuttle to the train station and this includes a stop at the Hong Kong airport express station where you can check with most airlines and drop off your luggage ( note: AirAsia does not have a drop off counter) Hong Kong Island is now "the" popular location for all the nightlife and restaurants which are only a few train stops away from the hotel.
