not bad for a short stay

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Good value for your money
Cons: yes - there is no smoking area and smokers have to stay on the street
A hotel a bit above budget class, but a bit far out of the area things happen.

Great Hotel!

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: almost averything
Cons: Opening hours of pool.
Location: Waterfront on Hongkong Island. Trams, MRT, buses all close. Reasonable Taxi fare $HK330 from/to airport (35 mins).
Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Good location on Hongkong Island. Fantastic views, clean and fairly big rooms (for Hongkong).

Enjoyed my stay, the staff was helpful in their explanation. Very quiet although in the very busy intersection. Within a very short walking distance from the airport bus.

Excellent excellent excellent hotel!

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: Location, view, staff, free shuttle, FOOD, and so much more!
Cons: The beds could be softer.
Location: Great location, excellent harbor views and FREE SHUTTLE!
This hotel was the best hotel we stayed in on our entire 8 day vacation. We were at this hotel for 3 days. They offer a free shuttle from HK station (and you can take the airport express shuttle to HK station.) Let's start with the cons: The standard hotel room was very small (very very small) and the beds were firm. Firm beds are very common in Asia. They weren't the firmest beds we've slept on in that continent but it was one of the firmer ones. Pros: The hotel is in the perfect location! The view of the harbor was spectacular! We got a free upgrade. The free shuttle around the city will save you so much money. The food in the restaurant in the hotel is MAGNIFICENT! And the staff...oh my goodness the staff....they were the kindest and most helpful people you'll ever meet in your life. I'm sure there was much more we're forgetting but my goodness...this hotel is amazing.

Great Stay, not great location

Posted Oct 27, 2014
I have literally nothing to complain about with my stay at this hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive. They speak very good English for the most part and go out of their way to help you. I didn't try the restaurant, but the room was very clean and everything worked great. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the location. It's about a mile walk to the closest MTR station (Sheung Wan) so any time I left to go anywhere it was about two miles worth of walking. Just ended up cabbing it back several times just so i didn't have to deal with the return walk. If you have another means of transport or doing mind walking two miles every time you leave your hotel room then this is a fantastic place to stay. -Michael

Location, Location, Location

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: I was pleasantly pleased with the cleanliness of the room and simple but functional amenities in the room, including a refrigerator.
Cons: The shower head was not functioning very well and could not be adjusted. The television did not work for the first few days of my stay.
Location: It was an easy walk to Hong Kong University and the nearby metro station at IFC and the Ferries.
The Island Pacific was perfectly located for my needs. It was in walking distance to the University and to Ferries. It was also situated in a relatively quiet area for an international city. The views of the harbor from my room were beautiful. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Nice and convenient hotel

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Cons: Renovation needed to improve the interior
Location: Local eateries, supermarket, 7-11, McDonalds !
Easily accessible via taxi to / from airport, which was a major plus given the chaotic situation when I went over Hong Kong. Many local eateries around, with 7-11 and supermarts within 5 min walking distance. Hotel needs some makeover though, as it seems like the last renovation was done at least 10 years ago. Room was small going by Hong Kong standards, and the thing I hated was the Hot and Cold tap, but maybe it is just me.

Just transit and only had the room for a few hour

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff
Nothing to report. I was in a very bad mood because of the protesters in Hong Kong and had to take a taxi both ways. The shuttle service was not being used because of the protesters. Very disappointed with the directions for a taxi.
