5 Star Experience At The Island Shangri-La HotelPosted Aug 4, 2014
Location: The location is perfect - you are close to everything and the cabs are so cheap. I got a cab to the Stanley Market and it was $20.00.
From the moment you walk in to the hotel you experience 5 Star Quality. The staff are amazing. The hotel is beautiful with all the amenities you could wish for - from the beautiful spa treatments to the stunning pool and fabulous restaurants. The view from the rooms are sensational - overlooking the harbour. I stayed there for 10 days and did not want to leave.

Always exceptionalPosted May 18, 2014
The hotel, positioned in Pacific Place precinct, is the best placed hotel in Hong Kong. The MTR is just below, giving one stop convenience to, say, Central and Kowloon. The hotel itself always excels in the quality of service and facilities. Simply the best buffet breakfast in any hotel in the world, with highest quality food for all tastes.
Great location but dated.Posted May 17, 2014
Stayed here for three nights and although the hotel is pleasant and in a brilliant location the decor is too elaborate and dated. Then lobby has the most unpleasant smell that almost made me jag every time I entered or returned. when I commented on it to the staff I was told that it was the Shangi-la "signature smell". The staff were mostly kind and helpful but room service staff were appalling and pushy hanging around for a tip until I virtually had to push him out of the door. I don't think I would stay here again as Hong Kong is full of amazing hotel. Next time I'm paying extra and going back to the Four Seasons where they really know how to do it.

This is hospitality at its bestPosted May 17, 2014
Pros: Everything, the horizon room and the restaurants
Cons: I don't think there is any thing that can be improved
Location: lots to do in Hong Kong, food, I recommend the Thai restaurant in the nearby Mall
We travelled from Singapore to Hong Kong and received at the Shangri-La was like seeing an oasis. We stayed in a horizon harbor room, with good views on the 53 floor. The Horizon Club was very special and the staff referred to us by name. This Hotel leads the way in Hospitality, not only in service but quality of food and facilities. The trouble is, once you have stayed here, most other hotels will seem very mediocre.

Best Urban Hotel We've Stayed InPosted Mar 24, 2014
Location: The park next door makes for a great walk.
Where do I start? The Island Shangri-La is simply an outstanding hotel, well located on the main island of Hong Kong. The staff is attentive and skilled, the rooms are outstanding, and the cleanliness quite striking after spending a few weeks elsewhere in Asia. We stayed on the concierge levels, where guests have access to a top floor lounge area which doubles as a breakfast room. We will be back!

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in.Posted Jan 14, 2014
From the room, to the restaurants, to the entire staff, this is probably the best experience I have EVER had in a hotel. I wish I could live there!

Superb service in great locationPosted Jan 1, 2014
Pros: Staff, quality, location.
Cons: Not sure that is possible.
Location: Upscale mall attached as are two other luxury hotels. Across the street from Museum of Tea and a pleasant, unassumin Tea House.
This luxury hotel lived up to its billing. Staff is the nicest I have ever encountered. Very polite, competent and helpful. Facilities are top notch. Food was great. Concierge staff - particularly Maryann and Cristy was amazing, knowledgable, and every recommendation they gave was spot on. Upgrade to Horizon lounge was worth th price. Tea House in Hong Kong Park across the street was very special treat. Upscale Mall attached to hotel was impressive if expensive. If you are looking for a HK hotel marked by style, luxury and such, thid is the place.

Pros: Location, mid level outdoor pool with views of the mountains. Next door to the park
Cons: It was not cheap
