“Nice hotal good location but after renovation price has gone up too much.”
I stay at this hotel for many years and always come back. But now after renovation the price has gone up to much to my opinion. Before they had a nice place to meet people, this was the place with live music this has been removed not and there is actually no cosy meeting place anymore, only the restaurant and a few seats nezt to the bar. Overall its still a good hotel but I doubt if I stay there again
“Great location, generally good value”
This is my fifth stay in this hotel over the last 4 years or so. There is nothing fancy here, but it is good value, although I paid more this time than for any previous stay -- it was the National Holiday weekend. I love the location -- it is in the heart of good shopping, 10 mins to the Star Ferry, 5 mins to the Temple Street night market, and right over the MTR. It is a favorite of mainland Chinese tourists, which means other guests will sometimes have different attitudes about waiting their turn at the front desk. The front desk staff are helpful and friendly, but also very busy -- the lobby is crowded and busy almost all the time. The rooms are not big but have everything you need. The rooftop is worth going for a quick look -- I had previously never been up there, but noticed the fireworks outside my window on Oct 1, so went up to see whether I could get a better view. It was a great show, and looks like the view of Nathan Road would be pretty interesting even on a normal day. Comparable hotels in the area that I've stayed in several times are the Kimberley and the Kowloon. I find the Kowloon a bit nicer (better linens, toiletries), but prefer this location. The Kimberley is very similar in terms of hotel quality, but I prefer being over the subway.
“Nice, comfortable hotel. Hotel location is their main selling factor.”
It would be efficient if they provide 2 or more staff at the reception area early in the morning coz when we checked out last September 16, 2011 at around 6:45 am there's only one staff handling the reception & it's annoying to wait for our turn considering that we are in a hurry to catch our morning flight.
“Good option to stay in the heart of Cowloon”
Good hotel for right price at the Nathan road, close to Temple street and 10 min walking to harbor... Clean rooms... Recommended.
“Good location and will go back again”
it's a good location. the hotel just above the jordan mrt station. easy access to most of the place. only take about 30 minutes from hotel to airport. we bought shuttle bus tickets from hotel to airport but unfortunately we stuck in the jammed and arrived at hotel 10 minutes after scheduled. the shuttle bus already departed but they willing to help us by asking the driver to turn back and offer us the next trip. they really helpful and ready to help so that we can reach the airport on time.
“Great stay”
Great view from room on the 11th floor. Right under the Jordan MTR, but lots of escalators to go up - the mall could use an elevator if you're moving lots of bags from the MTR. Its almost faster to take the Fourseas Building exit and walk down Nathan Rd a few feet to the front entrance (especially before 10am), but not for those with bags (more stairs). Good beds. Clean rooms. English speaking staff were competent, though checkin could be sped up. Minor remodeling work which didn't affect the stay any.
“VACATIONS 2011”
Very good choice!!!
“Really good Hong Kong hotel”
Stayed two nights in early November 2010. Very satisfied with this hotel. I wanted clean, comfortable, safe and great location and got all of those. I didn't avail myself of any of the services/restaurants because there was so much to do in Hong Kong and too little time. The location of this hotel is terrific with the access to the MTR being right in the building. I would stay here again very happily.
“not as good as last time, but still okay”
We stayed at the Prudential in HK before and were very pleased, giving a 4star rating. This trip was different. The rooms have apparently been refurb'd and not for the better. Rooms are smaller with fewer luxury appointments. Also, they have lunch & dinner specials that attract locals by the boat load, thus preventing hotel guests from being able to get a seat. Breakfast is OKAY, but not as well tended as last time. Previous stay, breakfast was included; this stay we had to pay $110HK per person. Hotel TV has about 10 channels, maybe 1/3 in English. Extremely convenient to the Metro, however the escalator to/from the metro station open late in the morning and close early at night. We had to climb the dead escalator stairs about 6 times in six days. BTW, the HK metro is one of the best in the world. It is fast, clean and easy to follow. We rate this hotel as 3 stars based on the trip (May 2010).
“The hotel has to be remodeled.”
Air conditioning not working, always set on cold and can't be heated.
