“Nice Hotel, better for Singles”

The hotel was very nice, clean, and location is good. A block away from Knutsford Terrace which has several restaurants and bars which is convenient. Wireless internet worked well. Free Breakfast buffet was very good. Liked the fact that you needed your room key to use the elevator. The only down side was the really small room and the bathroom door is frosted glass so not as much privacy as I would have liked, the other person in the room can hear everything. This is why I think it would be better for singles. Maybe the larger rooms are different. Overall though, I would recommend.

Area recommendations
We preferred WanChai because there were more pubs and restaurants and less shopping.
What to pack
We printed laminated business cards with the hotel name and address in English and Chinese to keep in our wallet. They were very helpful with the taxi drivers. Be adventurous and try the tiny eateries around town, but bring some disposable chopsticks from home and kleenex packs and a bottle of hand sanitizer.

“Downtown Hong Kong- Unique!”

If you want to try something new and different with lots of exotic style this is the place- even the flatscreen TV's are hidden within pictures frames. Great service and walking distance to everything.

“Wonderful hotel...but a few caveats to watch for....”

First, I loved the hotel! It was conveniently located in a nice area near the Kowloon Park, Miramar shopping center, and right in front of Knutsford terrace. That being said, do NOT get a low room facing the back (towards the Knutsford restaurants) as it gets loud on the weekends. Also, if at all possible avoid getting a room ending in 14 as they are on the SMALL side and the window faces right into another building (an old apartment building) so there is no opening the blinds unless you want to be VERY visible and vice versa. The rooms are comfortable (great sheets and pillows) and clean. The hotel has free breakfast as well as free wi-fi connection.

“Great location and a fair price”

This is a small boutique hotel. It is locates in TST so that means the location is great. The service is ok. I have already stayed in this hotel 2 time and I plan to do it again next year.

“Very nice hotel”

It may be a little bit of a walk to some things but the terrific breakfast more than makes up for this and cabs are plentiful and very cheap.

I thought Ocean Park was well worth seeing.

“Very impressed”

We needed to extend our stay in Hong Kong due to Hurricane Irene affecting air travel throughout the northeast of the US, so we found Luxe Manor via an Expedia search, and booked it for 3 nights based on the ratings. Very nice boutique hotel, sort of art deco meets avant-garde. Interesting style to say the least! But not in a bad way, it was a refreshing change, particularly given our circumstances. Nice staff, check-in was quick, only two elevators but we didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds at any time. Room was a decent size, no view except of some apartments next door and in back. Bed was very comfy, and the hotel provides 2 bottles of complementary water. The bathroom was terrific, we loved the dual shower heads (one is the ceiling rainfall style, the other is a European handle nozzle). Our room was on the 11th floor, and had no issues with water pressure. Location of the hotel is great too, right in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui, two blocks from the subway station and a block from the bustling Nathan Road.

Area recommendations
Tsim Sha Tsui is packed with shopping and restaurant choices, from fancy malls (Harbour City) with brand name goods, to small boutique shops and tailor stores, there's no shortage of selections for the shopper! Take the subway up to Mong Kok where you will find Fa Yuen Street, like Temple Street except the stalls are open all day. And of course, take the ferry or subway across the harbor to Hong Kong and ride the tram up to the peak for breath-taking views of the city.
When to go
Avoid the summer months. We went during mid to late August and the heat/humidity was brutal. Easily in the mid-90s F during the day, with dewpoints reaching 75. Oppressive the say the least.
Getting around
Kowloon and Hong Kong are definitely walkable cities, but the subway is so inexpensive, depending on the length of your stay, purchase an Octopus Card, which contains $ value and use it each time you ride. The card can also be used at numerous 7-11 stores.
What to pack
Depending on when you go, pack for daily changes of clothing. It is very hot in the summer, so you'll find yourself returning to the hotel dripping in sweat and needing to shower/change! Haven't been in HK during the winter months so I can't say what it's like then, but a sweatshirt or light sweater should do.
Shopping
MANY shopping malls and plazas, especially along Nathan Road and surrounding streets. Most popular "chain" stores include Giordano and Bossini. Areas between Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok are loaded with all types of stores, selling anything from electronics (computers and tablets to cell phones and mp3 players) to clothing. Keep in mind, the sizes in HK run small. If you are from the US and usually buy a size Medium, then get a Large in HK. You can find anything for cheap at Temple and Fa Yuen Streets.
Dining
If you dare, try the exotic menus at Temple Street's outdoor dining at night. Try any of the various congee restaurants, and dim sum places at the larger dining places. And definitely make a trip to a wonton noodle restaurant, the smaller and older the place looks, the better they are! Otherwise if your taste buds require that Western feel, there's no shortage of McDonald's and KFC's.

“Absolute Luxury”

Booked 2 rooms and was upgraded to their themed suites (royal and safari). My goodness I felt like I was staying in a palace. Then we went down to the bar for a drink and had to go back up to room to get camera was so amazed. What a place. If you want to stay in luxury this is the place and very affordable. 2 minute walk from MTR, airport express bus stop out front, shops everywhere. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and cater to your every need. All you would want for a luxury Hong Kong experience.

“Very good cost-benefit”

The hotel is very new and well decorated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Room is clean and well decorated, although slightly small. Overall great cost-benefit and location is very good (less than 5 min from subway), right in the heart of Kowloon. Highly recommend if price is reasonable.

Area recommendations
Definitely worth staying in Kowloon.
