Checked In But Then Checked Right Out!Posted Dec 3, 2013
Cons: Everything. Re-write the entire description on your site...it is all incorrect!
Location: Horrible, filthy, chaotic location.
First of all, this hotel is on a very busy, chaotic side street where it is difficult to get a taxi and nothing looks pleasant around it. We found the staff to be very nice, but the hotel was extremely disappointing. We booked a suite, hoping for the super large 560 sq ft that we paid for but the room was nothing like it was described on the Expedia website. The "suite" Room 2501 was not 560 square feet, it wasn't event half that size - it was so small, and there was only air-conditioning in the entrance-way seating room, NOT in the separated bedroom. It was not a suite, but an extremely mini studio apartment. On top of that the tub was way too small for the so called "soaking" they advertise. The tub is actually part of the shower. There isn't a bar at this hotel and you can't certainly call the breakfast area a "restaurant", like they do on the Expedia site. There is no lobby, no place to sit and wait or have a conversation, or conduct business calls. This hotel is truly joke. It is basically an upscale Hostel. We checked in and checked out 10 minutes later and went to another hotel because they said they didn't have larger rooms and confirmed that the size is not correct on the website, and couldn't provide us with a suite that had AC in the bedroom. The hotel is not marketed correctly. I would not recommend this hotel.

Mercer Boutique Hotel Hong KongPosted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: The location was very convenient, the rooms are modern and the staff were very courteous.
Cons: The smallest rooms have a bathtub with a shower device, but the rack for the shower should be at a higher level for convenience.
Location: The location is quite convenient and only one block from the MTR Station. There is a 7-11, Starbucks, bars and restaurants all nearby.
The Mercer is a Boutique Hotel located in the centre of the city on Hong Kong Island. It is very convenient and only one block away from a main MTR Train access point. It is reasonably priced by HK standards. The rooms are small, but modern and well kept. I upgraded to the suite for more space, which included a small fully stocked kitchen, dining area and small living room. The bathroom was modern with a full shower. The staff were very friendly and extremely courteous. Every time that I needed a taxi, they would go out to the main street, flag a cab and then bring it back to the hotel for my convenience. I was surprised by the excellent service for a boutique hotel. There is a fully stocked refrigerator and the wifi inside is complimentary. The Wifi is also free. A breakfast buffet is included as well. There is a small basic gym and a small swimming pool. The hotel was conveniently located, the rooms were modern and comfortable and the staff were very courteous and helpful. I recommend this hotel as an ideal choice in terms of cost and location.

Great Boutique HotelPosted Nov 13, 2013
Cons: Would have been nice to be greeted at the door and helped in with my luggage. I arrived at night so that might have had something to do with this.
Location: The location is in a very local neighbourhood in Hong Kong and a bit dimly lit at night.
I was a bit sceptical upon arrival. Smallest lobby I've ever seen. Check In was smooth and received my upgrade for being a Expedia VIP Preferred Guest. The big surprise was walking into the room! WOW! The best use of space I've ever encountered in any hotel room. Nice living/lounge area with lots of seating and great lighting. FREE mini bar beverages and super fast FREE wi-fi. Bedroom was spacious and good closet space. Bathroom was a good size with great water pressure and nice HOT water in the shower. Overall a great experience. My only regret was not being able to stay more that one night! Kudos to the design team and Management.

Not worth the moneyPosted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: The location was ok.
Cons: It should not be advertised as a 4 star hotel. This is a lie.
Location: Very central.
This is a 3 star hotel at best. You can get much better value for the same price. This hotel is not bad, but just way over-priced. Go elsewhere if you want a 4 star or above.

Great location regardless of your purpose!Posted Oct 27, 2013
Excellent location! Everything is walking distance. Staff was helpful and recommended good places to eat. Room was small but for HK is perfect. Breakfast buffet was good and the people serving very friendly. Would definately recommend it!

Charming hotel is a fascinating neighborhoodPosted Oct 20, 2013
Cons: Breakfast is chintzy. Little gray hamburger patties and factory breads? Good grief.
Sheung Wan is a cool neighborhood, a gentrifying bit of old HK easily accessible to Star Ferry, the big malls, Queens Road, and all the fantastic little bars and restaurants up the hill. The Mercer hotel is comfortable and functional, but stands out in the attentiveness of the desk staff. On a couple occasions they dropped what they were doing to walk me a couple blocks to set me on my course. If you stay here don't miss Tim's Kitchen, a great Michelin starred modern Chinese restaurant around the corner. Breakfast, included, was the one weak spot, in terms of variety and quality. I would skip it altogether and strike out for any of the great French bakeries nearby in this consummate food city.

Stylish hotel well located to shops and nightlifePosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: A great place to come back to after a busy day shopping and sightseeing
Cons: For the price, we couldn't think of anything which could have been improved.
Location: Across the road was Canteen, a great little bar and restaurant, good Happy Hour cocktails, in an otherwise quiet Chinatown neighbourhood.
This is a Zen inspired boutique hotel with fabulous minimalist but highly functional rooms and facilities. The modern chandelier in the bathroom was a luxurious touch. Located in the China town sector of Hong Kong Island just a short walk from Central shops and the restaurants of the Mid Levels. The ideal base for holiday makers and business travellers. We could not fault the service or the facilities. We ate out except for breakfast which made a great start to the day.

A great locationPosted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: Clean, friendly staff and perfect location to explore this amazing place.
Cons: Couldn't fault anything
Close to buses, trams, star ferry and train station a few minutes walk away. Hong Kong has lots of shopping malls, street stalls and many eateries.
