Ok hotel for one night layover

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Close to airport. Restaurant for breakfast.
Cons: More insulation of windows to reduce noise. New mattresses.
Location: Did not explore immediate area, but did go into Honolulu for dinner at Uncle Bo's Pupu Bar and Grill (yum).
Room was clean, but bed was a little lumpy. Busy highway in front of hotel made for constant background noise. The restaurant in the hotel was good for breakfast. Try the French toast. Shuttle bus to and from the airport was timely and the driver was very polite.

Convenient to airport and Pearl City

Posted Mar 28, 2014
The hotel is a few minutes from the airport and is located by the freeway, so there is a lot of traffic noise a trade-off for the convenience of easy access to downtown Honolulu and golf courses near Pear City. The hotel needs a refresh but its clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Pretty outdated, close to bus line. Not a destination hotel.

Value for money

The Waikiki resort hotel was perfect for our first two nights on Oahu. It met our expectations and needs. Rooms were a decent size, not too old and comfortable. Perfect base from which to explore the city.

Practical hotel on the airport door step.

Posted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Triple glazing!
Location: Perfect for airport and car rentals!
Coming in from a long journey from the UK, this was our practical one night stop before heading to our resort hotel on the island. It was clean and comfortable. The only downside is, if you are a very light sleeper, being this close to an airport and a freeway, might be a bit noisy. One other bonus, all the major car rental companies are next door, so I walked down the street to pick mine up next morning. Would I use it again. Yes - already booked it on my way out for my last night, as we have to be at the airport at 5am!

Decent airport hotel

Location: Right next to th airport on Nimitz and the freeway behind you. It's not a quiet, relaxing place. The location serves a purpose and is functional
Found this hotel to be pretty standard for a Best Western which are usually really mediocre hotels.

Close to airport - enough said

Pros: near airport
Handy for an overnight between flights. Dated, depressing, outdated but the staff were very friendly and helpful, wireless internet was good and the shuttle service was great. Expensive for what was on offer.

Within practical distance from Honolulu airport

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Ease for a short stopover when have to stay overnight to/from other Hawaiian islands and to/from the rest of the world.
Cons: Could update fully - but then the price would probably run up...
Location: There is not much to experience near by, it is not intended as a longer term station for Honolulu visits for example.
Hotel itself is old, only partially updated, looks to be mainly planned for military personnel as temporary residance, but works fine for a stopover stay as airport shuttle service is great. We had a handicapped room at top floor with nice view. Whoever gets it, remember not to force close the door, it closes on its own in about 30 seconds. Forcing the door results continued door frame disintegration... Restaurant and common facilities were OK.
