“Best Place”

We rented a car and drove from Belize City. We were given great instructions. The entire staff was great! We rate this as our best ever trip and we have traveled much. My wife had a massage almost every day. Very clean and safe place. I went on three fishing trips booked thru the lodge and they were all great. We also highly recomend the Zip line trip. The entire place was great. Hopkins was close enough that we went to the store daily. Every person we spoke to was nice in Hopkins. About driving from Belize City, the rental cars are not new like here in the USA and the roads are not as good. If you are not the adventorous type do not do it! I am 48 years old and had my youngest son and his wife were with us and we all had a blast. You can not beat this lodge so stop looking and book your trip! Food was great as well as our kitchen was fully stocked for when we cooked for ourselves.

Area recommendations
Just ask the staff and they will tell you the best places to go in Hopkins. We were a little nervous at first but by the end of the trip we were going everywhere in the little Village. Such nice people.
When to go
We were there in July
What to pack
Bug spray and sunscreen are a must for some tours. Shorts and light weight shirts. Shampoo and conditioner. Take a cap or hat. Sneakers for the Cave tubing. A backpack or day bag. Polorized sun glasses, snorkel gear.
Dining
The food was great!
Family-friendly activities
All the tours are family friendly and the lodge is perfect for family.
Nightlife
This is not a party place. We were too tired to stay up late anyway.
Outdoors or beach
Bugs were not bad but we all had a couple of bites by the end of the trip.

“Beautiful Resort but not what expected”

This resort is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The staff are very warm and friendly and the service is excellent, although we did have some issues with the office being closed and its personnel inaccessible on occasion (for booking excursions and the like). We did not rent an entire bungalow since there were only 2 of us -- my daughter and I. Our room had no phone and no TV -- only the bare essentials of a bed and bathroom. Activities on the resort were limited and unless you took an excursion -- there was only the pool and kayaks. No place to snorkel off of the beach (nothing to see) and no form of resort entertainment. Excursions were WAY overpriced -- for example: our trip to the Mayan ruins was 36% more than the Expedia price. We also checked out the same trip at the resort next door and were quoted approximatley half the price per person that we paid at Belizian Dreams, leaving us feeling ill-used and ripped off. If you're looking for total relaxation, this is a great place but we stayed 9 days...far too long with little to do unless we wanted to drop huge sums of money on constant excursions. We would have been much happier at Coco Plum, the sister resort. Bottomline: bring lots of books to read or make your stay on the short side.

“Secluded”

The hotel is very nice, but Hopkins can be a bit out of the way depending on where you are visiting.

“The best little resort in Belize!”

Driving through the country side on the way to Belizian Dreams was incredible and beautiful. However, it became apparent quickly that the people of Belize don't have the resources that we have here in the United States. After passing a few run down resorts I wondered what Belizian Dreams would be like. Upon arriving there my fiancée and I were 100% satisfied with the aesthetics and location. The staff was incredible. They were truly happy serve us and we became friendly with them in no time. They consistently went above and beyond what is expected to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. There was always fresh bottled water in our private kitchen. The food was great as well. The beach was well groomed and they even spray every morning for beach bugs. You wouldn't thin this to be important except that after meeting some travelers that stayed at another beach front resort (that doesn't spray their beach) it was obvious by looking at all their bug bites that not all resorts spray their beaches. We got married at our resort and I can't begin to tell you how 1st class of a job the entire staff did in organizing and pulling off the wedding. We'll return to Belizian Dreams again for sure!

Area recommendations
While at Belizian Dreams DO NOT forget to ask about a day trip to CoCo Plum private island. Incredible to say the least. Very close to the hotel. I think it was just a 15 min.boat ride to get there from Belizian Dreams.
What to pack
Pack very casual clothing b/c there aren't a lot of ritzy places in Belize.

“Had a great time!!”

The resort is beautiful and the hotel workers are friendly and always willing to get you directions, etc. They decorated our room with flowers for our anniversary, which was very pretty. My only complaint was that the food at the resort was very expensive, as are the guided trips. My husband and I made out much better by renting a car for the week. That enabled us to leave the resort and interact with the locals in Hopkins, eat at the restaurants (which were very inexpensive), and we drove to the attractions and paid only entrance fees. We had a great hike up the Antelope Falls in the Mayflower Bocawina National Park and through the Cockcomb Basin Wildlife Preserve. We also toured the Xunantunich ruins. As for mosquitoes and ants, I think those are pretty much a given in tropical areas. We did have ants in our room, (maybe from the flowers), but it certaintly wasn't a big deal. I would advise using a strong deet to repel mosquitoes when hiking...and make sure to cover every exposed inch. We made the mistake of taking our shoes and socks off to swim in the falls, and they got us pretty good from the walk in and out of the water! There were also a few power outages while we were at the resort, again, it was only a minor inconvenience. Overall a great experience, and as everyone else said, Ernesto is very helpful and extremely friendly! We definitely plan to go back to beautiful Belize soon...there is so much to see and do there and the Belizeans are extremely friendly!

Area recommendations
Hopkins was a great place to talk to locals and eat well for little money. Placencia was a nice area to shop at and eat at as well. Otherwise, any of the excursions to the ruins or wildlife preserves I also highly recommend. The sights and people make it well worth the car rental!
Getting around
Rent a car, you'll save money in the long run with the ability to eat at local area restaurants and pay only entrance fees at attractions. You'll also see more of the real Belize.

“Truly a dream experience!!!”

The hotel staff was the best, from the Manager to the cleaning ladies. The service at Belizean Dreams was the best I have ever experienced, and I have traveled the world! They can arrange and plan/ set up anything you want. Fishing, caving expeditions, wildlife observations, massage services. . . you name they will do all they can to arrange it. The food at the resort was excellent as well -- although a bit expensive if you didn't have an all inclusive plan. The grounds were beautiful and maintained constantly. The beach was great! Always clean and always lounge chairs and even hammocks. This is the perfect hotel/ place for couples or families that do not want a "commercial" type hotel with lots of rooms and entertainment shows nightly. It is like being own your own deserted island with 5 star accommodations. GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!

Traveler's tip
I would advise getting either a plan that includes some meals or definitely getting a two bedroom villa with a full kitchen and going to the local grocery store and cooking a few breakfast and/or lunches. Otherwise, you will pay a fortune eating at the resort everyday for every meal -- trust me. There are some local restaurants that are really economical, but they will require a shuttle especially at night or perhaps a bike ride during the day -- a hot bike ride though.

“The world's best kept secret.”

This place was immaculate from top to bottom. I will definitely be going back to Belize and I will most certainly stay at the Beliziean Dreams or their sister villas, Hopkins Bay. I can't put in to words how beautiful and peaceful this place is.

Traveler's tip
Befriend the locals, they will help you out with ANYTHING.
