“Very Nice”
My daughter and I were traveling to a competition at the convention center. The hotel staff was polite, courteous and extremely helpful. We arrived after the hotel restaurant had closed, but the front desk staff gave us directions to a small corner about a block away that had several restaurants. We were very satisfied with our room and will definitely stay at the Austin on our next trip to Hot Springs.
“Great place”
Shocked at the value for the hotel. Everything exceeded our expectations.
“Good but not great”
The hotel is older and needs some renovation and newer amenities. The room was clean, minus the old carpet that just needs to be replaced, and the toilet and tub looked new, air conditioning worked great, staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel itself just needs a major remodel, some floors were stinky and maintenance kept the room with the vending machines unclean, the rooms had older flooring, furniture, tvs and lacked convenient wall plugs. The parking is far away from the hotel, but they do offer valet for a small fee, which was fine for the trouble. The location is of course the best part which is practically attached to the expo center, and 2 blocks from bathhouse row and the downtown area.
“best locations”
best location...need more luggage carriers...only has 4 for hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Austin at Hot Springs”
Hallway to our room was warm. When we got to our room, the a/c was not working. We called the desk and a hotel employee came up and had a/c working in 5 minutes. Older hotel, but service was good. We were on the 13th floor and had an awesome view of Hot Springs and the surrounding hills...beautiful!
“we will stay again”
comfortable beds, pillows, and sitting area. Extremely clean and the staff were all very friendly and approachable. Location couldn't be better. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants and attractions.
“Nice Hotel”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Austin. My husband and I were comfortable. The location was great walking distance to the downtown area. It is an old hotel but well kept. The room had a smell but we figured it was from being so old. Once we turned the air down we didnt even notice it anymore.
“Like a faded rose”
The Austin Hotel is a classic example of what used to be. No doubt it was once beautiful - there are still some vestiges of a high quality hotel. But the place was shabby in some areas, the facilities in the spa were marginally functional, and the restaurant served a limited menu. Room prices were much too high for the services provided. If you wanted the real Hot Springs experience, you could have gone to any one of the facilities on Bathhouse Row for an authentic hot bath & massage, and stayed in a motel nearby at half the cost. The Austin only provided an expensive, artificial imitation.
“service”
Everything was great, Staff very helpful and friendly. Very eager to help.
