Roadrip with the family!

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: Nice, clean, quiet place to stay. Super friendly staffs!
Cons: Need to add more washer and dryer they only had one available.
Location: Wind cave, crazy horse, and so many more.
The place was close to a nice little town. There was a lot of things to do around the area. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. The staffs (especially the manager there) was super nice and friendly. They had an in door pool and the free breakfast was very nice. Overall it was a very nice and friendly place to stay. The bed was comfortable and clean.

In transition

Posted Jul 3, 2015
This hotel is in the process of changing over to a Baymont and it seems as though it's a bumpy transition. Front desk staff was friendly despite being under a lot of pressure with the changeover. The bedsheets were clean but the shower had hairs stuck to the sidewalls--not our hairs. Yuck. Carpet was stained. Air conditioner worked well and it was fairly quiet throughout the night.

Pros: The staff was nice,.
Cons: The "breakfast" was not good. If a hotel is going to only offer bread products then at least include bagels and cream cheese. There were none.
The price was too high for the services received. The price was too high for the services received.

Nice family hotel

Posted Jun 20, 2015
The rooms are large. We had 2 beds plus a pull out sofa. They use a lot of chemicals on the wash, our kids couldn't use the bedding. Friendly staff all around. Laundry mat on main level and pool. Good location also across the street from a grocery store.

Old. No elevator. Uninviting breakfast. Very old carpet. Entrance was a door in s two-story cement wall. "Business center" was a small computer table in the entry doorway in public view. Would not stay here again.

Bed Bug

Posted Apr 9, 2015 on Hotels
When we found a bug crawling in our bed, we took it to the front desk, who would not contact the manager or offer any help, but instead referred us to the maintenance man. Maintenance man did not think insects in the bed is a problem. The state of South Dakota pest control confirmed it was a bed bug. When we called the manager to complain, he showed no concern, spoke to us rudely, and hung up on us twice. Corporate Best Western was friendly and apologetic, but not able to help. Our family wants to warn other families away from this place!

Christmas at the Sundowner

Posted Dec 28, 2014 on Hotels
We stayed in a pet room on Christmas day, so I'm hoping the reason for slightly unclean conditions is that they gave as many people time of over the holidays as possible. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful! t
