Super neat placePosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was completely satisfied. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in with no problem. They met us at the door, which was very personal. They allowed us to upgrade our room with no additional charge. We basically were the only people there and it was very cozy, very clean and we felt at home.

Romantic get-awayPosted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: Romantic feel to the place
Cons: Breakfast was at 10am... could do with allowing 9 til 10 for some guests
Location: Lake-side with gardens and a must use hot-tub in garden. Romantic
A very romantic setting, champagne in room on arrival. Comfy and well worth it. Staff very pleasant and surroundings in good repair.

We really did find the visit enjoyable and pleasant. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet and the lake view was marvelous. The staff was very helpful but not overbearing. The simply let us enjoy our stay Thank you and we will visit again.

The people, the place and the town. Clean, friendly, well appointed. Delightful manager. Near the town and on a lovely lake. We will go again.

Not a good place for business folks during the wkPosted Mar 16, 2013
This is the first time I stayed at a facility where I didn't meet the staff until the following morning for breakfast. There was no one available when I checked in even though I had an "agreed" late check in time of 7-8pm. I had to "find my way" through the facility (which is strangely built, not like a regular house) to get to my room. They served breakfast on a weekday at 10am, so I was not able to participate at such a late time the following morning. I was not offered a different time to accommodate my busy business schedule so I ate elsewhere. The room temperature in my room was awful - I was not able to regulate my room and therefore had to venture out into the hallway 3 times throughout the night to turn the air up or down - thank goodness no one else was staying overnight or I might have affected their sleep. No venting in the bathroom so all the steam went directly into the sleeping area which made things even warmer. No ceiling fan to move the air. Windows didn't have screens so they couldn't be opened or they were old and nailed shut. And finally, it wasn't the easiest getting an itemized bill. The lady fixing breakfast didn't know how to generate a receipt for me so she put me on the phone with someone else who said she'd send me a copy via email. I did receive a copy but it was incorrect. I didn't have the time to mess with it so I let it go. Overall, I would not recommend staying here for business. Perhaps it is different on the weekend.

The outside area was gorgeous. The inside (or a least our room) was very dated. Several things in our room were broken, and it was not very clean. For example, old soap was left in our room with hair on it--gross! I was disappointed with the breakfast--it was only average. The hot tub was broken the first night we got there--but after letting them know, they had it up and running the very next night. Hope this helps.

Excellent setting, beautiful sunsetPosted Oct 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
It was an excellent honeymoon for us, a perfect romantic setting relaxing in the outdoor hot-tub in a natural environment and watched the sunset was a moment to behold for ever.

Lousy ServicePosted Aug 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
No one there to check us in, called number on door and got voice mail. Repair man on-site called and found manager who said room was open and just move in. The room has no exterior window which is against most building codes and is a safety issue. The ceilings were low and I had to duck to go through some doorways.(I'm only 6'4') My wife went to the restroom when we got there and there was no toilet paper on the holder, I looked through every drawer and cabinet in the room and there was none. Later we finally found a utility closet by the building entry door that had extra rolls in it. We never met or saw the manager. The site has a beautiful view of the lake and a nice sitting area at the dock though the boat repair shop, marina and restaurants next door are a distraction from the quiet beauty of the lake. (Bright lights and lots of noise) Breakfast is not until 10:00. (the day is half over) The food was good but not anything special. Very minimal and not much presentation. Wished we haddn't waited for breakfast. Crackerbarrell or IHOP would have been better, but we had already paid for it with the room. Not a good value! There seemed to be a general laziness about everything there. When they made up the bed, they left the decorator pillows on the floor in the closet where we had moved them to sleep. They ran out of sugar for the coffee the second day. I was not impressed, and will not be back.

Not like the picturesPosted Jul 23, 2012
Pros: Pool table
Cons: The rooms with carpet you were afraid to walk barefoot on.
Location: On a gravel road next to a lake with no views of the lake
The rooms are not what I expected. It was a house that was converted into a motel. There was no parking except on a gravel patch. While we were there our car was hit one night due to the bar next door to it. You could hear the person across from you talking in their room. The stay was good but for the price I paid it was not worth it. I could have paid another 150.00 and stayed at the Arlington in downtown Hot Springs, with a parking garage. The pool table upstairs was the only plus to the stay.
