Howard Johnson Express Inn - Hot Springs

the stay was ok...the water in both rooms i rented dripped all night...we stayed for 2 nights and when we went to front desk to get more towels and washrags for the 2nd night they said they couldn't give us anymore wash rags because the maid only had them. There was several upkeep things in the room that i wish they would fix and like most hotels they tell you how to get on their wireless when you check in...instead you have to call down and figure it out. Chose this hotel bc they did have free wifi but was awful having to figure out how to get on it. Wish they had a free breakfast like most other places but we ate at Phils place and it was super nice and you got lots of food for the price so it was great.

When we arrived to our hotel it looked outdated and somewhat run down. When we arrived to our room the heating unit was off and it was freezing inside and out-they were expecting us. Our room key kept expiring, both evenings we were there. We called the front desk and they made us walk downstairs and across the parking lot in the middle of the night to get a new card. The bathtub was peeling and the drain was black. The elevator jars you around and opens and closes repeatedly when you reach your desired floor. Also, the front desk clerk was not friendly and had no recommendations for any of the questions we asked about anything and blamed us for our room key not working. We were told by cab drivers and locals numerous times not to walk outside by ourselves as we were in a bad neighborhood. We will never stay again or recommend this place to anyone.

The stay was good,room clean,old hotel

The front desk clerk was very rude and not helpful at all. We will not stay here again. Also, they put a hold on our account for $50 and said it would take 5 to 7 days to return the money...not a good thing when you vacation on a budget like we do.

Hotel is old but room was clean and comfortable. Front desk was very friendly. Staff wonderful! Good location. Close to shopping and spa's. Will stay again.

hotel rundown. beds very uncomfortable like sleeping on box springs. SMALL very cramped. "kitchenet" micro fridge w/microwave sitting on top. pics showed nice big bath with large tub. tub didnt even have plug so you could take a bath. reservations for 4 housekeeping only provided 3 towels/washcloths everyday of trip except finial day. even left note on bed asking for 4 of each. note was gone notepad put back on nightstand and still only 3 of each. called to talk to mgr. was told he was out STILL waiting on return call. kept having to reset fuse on outlet because hairdyer kept flipping it. old outdated tv that took 3-5 min to get pic without lines going through it. thank goodness we had plenty of things to do so we didnt spend much time in room. only good thing about hotel was the pool. kids enjoyed it alot and it had good hrs 10am-10pm. location wasnt bad either. most local sites within 20 min drive

The air conditioner is old and could not stay cool during the hottest part of the day. There was trash on floor from previous tenants. The bathroom was nailed together and stuck when closed. The refrigerator did not keep cool.

This is a very old motel. The room was in very clean and in good condition, The bed sheet were very clean as were the bath towels. We had every thing we needed coffie, tea, ice box.Will be needing carpet in the near future.

Room was clean and hotel is conveniently located

My girlfriend and i stayed 2 nights at the howard johnson inn. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were new to the area and they provided great directions and insight. The hotel looks older but not necessarily bad. The pool is nice. The a/c in our room worked great. The beds were comfy and it was quiet. The showerhead put out an annoyingly small amount of water and housekeeping did not come in the morning, but other than that, it was a good experience overall. Would stay there again.
