Premium tv was a tube tv with fussy cannels that didn't work most of the time. Every spring in the mattress could be felt. Even the brochure picture doesn't look like the hotel. View was a concert wall with window unit. It was clean and staff was friendly.

Old hotel; nice peoplePosted May 18, 2015
Pros: The staff was nice and friendly and even the guests seemed nice to my dog as we walked in and out for her walks.
Cons: See above; one would cost almost nothing; put a trash can in the sleeping area as well as the bath.
Location: I loved the location! across the street from the National Park promenade where my dog and I could go for walks. Less than a block from Central Ave.
I booked this place because I didn't have a place to leave my little dog and she could stay with me at the hotel. I would have liked to have a coffee pot in my room, ice somewhere except in the lobby, better place for hair and makeup (I was there for 2 social events); more trash cans; better electrical outlets. After I checked in I saw that they had suites with minfrig and thought about checking to see if the suites had coffee pots. The rates were so reasonable that you might want to check to see if they furnish any of the things I would have like to have.

Good potentialPosted May 8, 2015
Hotel must improve/upgrade the quality and appearance of its rooms. Hotel has potential of becoming a quality boutique hotel but will require investment.

Nice retro hotel. We stay there every year.Posted Apr 14, 2015
The hotel staff is very helpful. The hotel is from the 20s or 30s so don't expect it to be state of the art. However, we stay there every year for the Arkansas Derby. It is charming and suits are needs. The restaurant in the hotel is also very good!

Hostile in Hot SpringsPosted Apr 11, 2015
This is the kind of place you expect to stay at while backpacking across Europe. Not a single picture on the walls of the room, no air whatsoever, ( was handed a box fan and told to open the window... On the 7th floor) asked for a refund within 20min of arrival... Five days and 7 phone calls later (from Expedia) the manager was still unavailable to authorize a refund... Expedia did a one time courtesy and extended their own refund ($467.00). Thanks Expedia! I'll be using you again for sure!

The potential is there ...Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Location - it was quiet the night of our visit and the convenience to hiking & bathhouse row was fantastic. The price was very good.
Cons: The lobby was interesting but dark. I don't know what the other rooms look like but ours felt very dated.
Location: I already mentioned the convenience to the historic bathhouses & the park. This is a real plus.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. Wifi was available. The room we stayed in was quite dated, however. The old bedspreads should go. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for someone who likes modern conveniences like a microwave & fridge in the room.

I love the historical nature of the hotel.Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: All the cool history of the place.
Cons: Better televisions, carpets and beds.
Location: Nice. Within walking distance of a lot of things.
A nice stay in a cool, eclectic place. I do think it could use a little renovation and upgrading, but I do hope it maintains its historical touches.

You get what you pay for!Posted Mar 29, 2015
Once inside the lobby it looks very promising. We booked online for 2 nights. Once you get off the elevator (on the second floor at least) you feel as if you've stepped into a different building. Everything is painted white, floor to ceilings as if it was a old hospital. Our room was adjacent to the kitchen hood ventilation so we had that noise, our room ended up having plumbing issues so we were moved to the third floor which was sooo much better. The 2 floor R rooms we saw need a total make over. If you stay, hope you get the third floor, 100% better and worth staying in. Close walking distance from the shops.

Historic HotelPosted Mar 28, 2015
This is an old restored hotel. I have stayed here twice. Some rooms are very small with old but clean fixtures and furnishings. No frig or microwave in rooms. Staff was polite and helpful. Not fancy if that is what you are used to. Very good Italian restaurant in hotel. Guests of hotel get 20% discount. Hot Springs mountain with hiking trail right across the street. Very close to bath house row and prominade walkway.
