Property Amenities

This entirely nonsmoking, Renaissance artist-themed bed and breakfast plus spa is located in Ventura’s historic Cultural Arts District, only a few blocks from the beach. Amenities abound: a complimentary daily gourmet breakfast, wireless Internet access in public areas (surcharge), and bicycles for rent are a few of the more everyday offerings. Guests also can browse through rare art and science books in the library, have signature fragrances blended at the aromatherapy bar, or receive visualization instruction.

The Ancient Aromatics Sea Spa is an authentic aromatherapy spa, using only fine pharmaceutical grade essential oils, which are blended fresh for each client. In addition, the spa uses massage, acupressure, and foot reflexology to stimulate the body’s natural healing centers.

Rooms

Antique furniture and decor are hallmarks of the guestrooms here, ranging from the simple to the ornate, such as a carved stone table or gold leaf detailing. Paintings and prints and tapestries hang on the walls, and the Renaissance artist theme is echoed with art history books and easels. Comfort also is a characteristic feature of these guestrooms, with offerings of premium down feather bedding, seven-headed Vichy showers, and complimentary herbal teas and coffees (not to mention the homemade lavender white chocolates). Each guestroom has views, some of historic downtown Ventura, others of the rooftop garden or Mission San Buenaventura. Modern amenities are not neglected; wireless Internet access is available (surcharge), and local calls are free.

All guests have the option of a complimentary gourmet breakfast each morning. Sample breakfast items include French-style yogurts misted with flower essences and garnished with edible flowers, fresh lemon poppyseed bread, and pancakes topped with local organic strawberries and homemade whipped cream.
